I'm almost there it's so pretty!! 😭 this is the first time I've made extensive use of complex numbers in shader code, which has been fun! it's an analytic 2D lighting system through piecewise conformal maps representing angular light/"sky" exposure, which means you get fully analytic penumbras!

ooo it's so interesting seeing how dual quaternion splines solve extreme rotational differences! I made it prefer the shortest path within the quaternion double cover, so when control points pass the 180 degree switch with its neighbors, the path also changes its shape!
So Valve now gives you a hard time with putting a PCVR game on Steam if you want to write that you don't support the discontinued WMR headsets (which are only supported by a community driver, which DOES NOT WORK WITH ALL GAMES AS IT IS). I think that's bullshit actually. Launching on PCVR blows.
me: the witchcraft allegations around technical art are kinda overblown also me: The answer I've been searching for resides in precise constellations of these very circles
Worth mentioning wrt Silksong Credits/Team Size thing, that folks often think H3VR is a 'solo' project, and while I'm the only person doing daily work on it, there've been well over a dozen folks who've worked on it significantly, and my credits list incl. tool/asset makers is 300+ peeps long.
I've been gearing up for selling a second batch of gizmos - I'm close to having 1000 of them ready! however, PostNord has suspended sending packages to the US due to their fluctuating tariff policies, so for now I won't be able to send them to the US

there are three types of university courses 100-level CS: actually braindead, sometimes just plain wrong 200-level CS: normal classes (you will have One) 100-level math: hell on earth, homework specifically designed to confuse the tutors, assigned the same day as it is due
you know your transition has been effective pre-hrt when your phone starts classifying photos of you as a completely new person
The gaming minmaxxer in me enjoys calorie restriction dieting a bit too much. Figuring out what I can fit into 150 calories. Like this turkey sandwich for example.
If someone claims to be scared of the subway but isn’t scared of being in a car on the highway—which is exponentially more dangerous + deadly—they are not a serious person
Make sure to tune into today's H3 Devlog today, as we engage in some cross cultural exploration.
It's fascinating how the intuitive signal one gets based on Engine choice has flipped 180 from a decade ago. It used to be: Unity Logo - Assume low-tech team Unreal Logo - Assume larger budget, higher tech team Now it's: Unity - Assume veteran sickos Unreal - Assume technically clueless
How you know the pedestrian experience in Glendale, CA is fantastic.
yesterday I helped this little guy find his way home, after being lost for 4 days 😭 he's home now!! look at him he's very good 🧡

Everyone knows that "Preferences" should be found under Edit (because you edit them), under Tools (because they control the parameters of your tools), under General (because they are categorically broad), & under File (because a preference is a 'filing off' from a marble block of possibility)
IRS: a $4000 cinema camera? me: um,, yes sir IRS: As far as we can tell, you don't work in cinema, and your YouTube videos are digitally animated. Our file here says you're a game developer me: me [carefully sliding over my phone]: this is Sigge please l;ook at him he's so important 😭❤️
*sigh* I wish the Unity Progressive Lightmapper was actually like... good or better. It's just ok. Like... if you don't actually care about lightmap quality like a sicko, it gets the job done. But it's still... sad.
I think we're about to see the enclosure and dismantling of a good number of online virtual worlds, mmos and adjacent things, in the name of protecting kids. Roblox is about to be -shredded-, and everyone else will defensively react as a result.
back when I made Shader Forge, the closest I got was "so freya made a pretty popular shader"

I don't think children should have phones. They should have huge beige desktop computer with "Windows 9x Operating System", "Dedicated 3D accelerator", and "SoundBlaster compatible sound card"
