Was establishing care and right after she fat shamed me she gave me a lecture on how I needed to go back to engineering??? And talked to me like I couldn't possibly fathom the idea of refresher courses without her help??? Girl if you'd been listening you'd know that was the last thing I wanted

A question from Reddit that I'll answer here: "What's the most unhinged thing a doctor has said to you with a straight face?"

Stigma is why I HAVE to use a wheelchair these days, because I pushed too hard to get “better” and go without a brace during a critical period, and then again forcing myself to walk at work. It is not better to “tough it out”. It’s how you get hurt, sometimes extremely permanently.

Re THAT Stock article, and if you don't think this is harmful, Ive tried to convince at least two elders and my mother to use a cane because they needed it, and each time, they refused violently because "it was shameful" This is how people overextend and hurt themselves, becoming more disabled.

The most terrifying enshittification I've discovered has been learning that Microsoft Word documents no longer auto-save if you are not saving them to one of their own proprietary cloud services. I'm slapping control-S like it's 1999.
