Have LLMs had a big impact in the Sovereign Citizen movement? They have a machine that can yield pseudo-law gibberish with citations and footnotes so much faster now. A cutting edge of bespoke legal theory.

Barrett Brown isn’t a good person. He has stalked/harassed my family for years, using anti-queer/anti-trans rhetoric to try to intimidate myself & my wife. He has threatened to kill friends of mine while using homophobic slurs. And this is just the tip of the iceberg. In short, fuck Barrett Brown.

👀 “Brown, a journalist and former member of the hacktivist collective Anonymous, sits opposite me. He lights a crack pipe packed with ‘ice’, the local version of meth, takes a long drag, and exhales towards the floor to avoid blowing smoke in my face.” dispatch-media.com/palantirs-gr...

Jurassic Park is a perfect franchise because the question "why would they keep doing this" is answered by simply asking yourself if you would want to go see a dinosaur. Of course you would want to see a dinosaur.

One of my friends ranked everyone in his class in terms of how often they replied to other’s posts in the discussion forum, like chess so you get a higher Elo for replies from high Elo students. He tracked popularity over time to demonstrate how his takes had gotten worse as the semester progressed.

A new trend I've noticed is *many* independent researchers asking for arXiv endorsement on Reddit. None of them share their drafts (until commenters demand it), just "here's my endorsement code, can you approve me for cs.SE / cs.AI?" I suspect that LLMs are encouraging this practice. Very strange.

Our statement on the UK gov't's demand that all content on all devices sold or used in the UK be scanned, on the presumption of nudity, using a dystopian combination of age verification & content scanning. This proposal will not safeguard children. It endangers us all. signal.org/blog/pdfs/20...

Each time I pass this collapsed lamppost it’s disassembled just a bit more, parts missing or splayed out across the grass. It feels like decay, watching nature reclaim life, first with scavengers, then with fungus. All the human ants nibbling away at the lamppost carcass to support their colonies

A street lamp on the ground, its casing cracked open, lens absent, bulb smashed, filament exposed. A red “DANGE tape ribbon is tied around the neck and hangs limply. Like entrails.

So I can’t just mail a liquid. Like if I go to USPS with a puddle and some stamps they’ll tell me no. But what about a cardboard box filled with liquid? Is there a maximum sogginess the postal service will accept? How moist can my mail be?

still not quite over the fact that i watched 15 year olds get sued for millions of dollars for downloading twelve songs and now we all have to accept AI slop because every tech company in the known universe decided that IP laws don't exist now that they're inconvenient for them
