every single day on the Cowley Road cars are being driven onto the pavement at the pedestrian lights (near Momo Station). Even when the loading only space there that is free, I see vans being driven onto the pavement there to unload deliveries. WHY?
Sadly using pedestrian crossings to drive onto pavements seems to have been normalised. So we need bollards anywhere there is parking demand, even if they are hazards.
There used to be bollards on both sides of the tactile paving here. They got knocked over by cars and as a reward, the council never reinstalled them. Can we have pur bollards back please! Pavements are for people, not for cars!!
Just metres from the carpark. Shirking parking fees, using recreational areas of Florence Park to store their car and endangering park users. #parksareforpeople #antisocialparking #badlyparkedcars

@badlyparkedox.bsky.social @thamesvalleypolice.bsky.social Fantastic (not!) example of pavement parking today on Peat Moors, OX3 - pavement users forced into the road.
It points out “Even unintentional actions, e.g. parking a works vehicle on a footway, can create obstructions that force vulnerable road users to navigate around hazards, increasing their exposure to danger.” OCC warns it may revoke permits for companies that fail to consider walkers or cyclists.
Roadworks contractors are being told to consider pedestrians and cyclists. Oxfordshire County Council has signed off a set of ‘Active Travel Guidance for Street Works’. It discourages ‘Cyclists Dismount’ signs except as a last resort, and says lanes at roadworks should not allow unsafe overtaking.
@badlyparkedox.bsky.social Erm, I guess trying to park in the shade trumps anyone actually being able to use the pavement?
Oxfordshire pavement parking ban & enforcement can't come soon enough @badlyparkedox.bsky.social (nr. Waitrose, Old High Street, Headington)
