None of this covers the real real reason. Twenty years ago, gigs were cheap promotional tools to sell expensive records. Now most people listen to music via streaming and don't buy it, records are free promotional tools for expensive gig tickets.

FYI any fringe regulars, they have switched round the toilets in Teviot which is obvious from Turret stairs but less so the main stairs
