There's actually research on this and it involves scrutiny. If you're Black people are going to look at your work looking for mistakes in a way they would never for white people.

They're arresting people, for speech, because they're opposing closing polling places. Republicans simply don't care about law or democracy. They'll do whatever they want until judge tells them to stop, even then it's only temporary.

when a conservative wins by a razor-thin margin, it's a "referendum." when a progressive loses by a razor-thin margin, it's the sign of a "waning movement."
As boring of an answer it is, the narrative is absolutely "college is sports, sex and some studying on the side." I once had to write with a broken hand in class, cause I didn't have health insurance. I still got an A. Nobody wants to hear it, cause college is supposed to be fun-only.

The heterogeneity of the US system is one of its greatest strengths. Their goal of homogenization is served by an illusion of homogeny, just homogeny of the wrong sort.
I feel really sad for Hong and her supporters. They wanted real change and some hope for dignity. Instead they've got a boot licking election denier and a flavorless establishment darling.

All the stuff people mention...the grifters, the HR departments covering their asses, the censorious online shit stems from it.
