Daily microactivism. Radical kindness empowers. Be heard. Daily resistbot. Fly kites in the blue skies Not really a kite

Maybe the most notable bit here -- not a shocker -- is that the "Constituent Coffee" events Susan Collins holds for PR purposes in her DC office aren't actually open to all Mainers. You've got to be the right *kind* of constituent. (Presumably one who can be relied on to play nice.) #MEpolitics

10/6 The story of Senator Susan Collins refusing to meet with 17 female Maine elected officials who went to DC to talk to her about Brett Kavanaugh's Supreme Court nomination #maine #MEpolitics

Troy Jackson: "As late as 2024, the FBI was circling around Sen. Collins ... then when President Trump came back, his administration dismantled the investigation. Now she votes with Donald Trump 96% of the time. Look, I don't owe Donald Trump nothing."

Troy Jackson is not a great speaker. But that makes him even more believable as a hardworking logger-turned legislator who’s looking out for people who work hard. But he had a very strong closing statement. I think he clearly won

"One of the more common things that the measles virus can do is cause hepatitis or infection of the liver. These children will be sick. Other children are developing severe and irreversible neurological damage because of brain inflammation, or encephalitis." www.nbcnews.com/health/healt...

Pennsylvania’s measles outbreak is the country’s largest in three decades

More than 1,000 people have been infected and nearly 200 have been hospitalized as the state struggles to contain the spread of the extremely infectious disease.

For folks who might want a reminder of Paul LePage's time as governor #mepolitics: - An anemic economy - Cutting and blocking health care for tens of thousands - Keeping people in poverty unnecessarily - Shortchanging towns and schools by $2 billion www.mecep-action.org/lepage-what-...

Paul LePage’s record: What Maine lost

LePage blocked policies approved by voters, cut services for families, shifted costs onto towns and households, and left federal funding unclaimed or unspent.

While they give their closing statements, I'll say that Collins often seemed offended that anyone questioned what she'd done and, while Troy is not seen as a good debater, he definitely held his own. #mepolitics

The rural health transformation fund is quintessential Susan Collins. She wants credit for an inadequate fix to a problem she helped to create. And then that inadequate fix becomes even worse because of the Trump officials she voted for #mepolitics

While Sen. Collins pushed it during HR 1’s enactment the rural fund was always temporary & inadequate in offsetting the massive #Medicaid cuts. But she also didn’t seem to push back when the Trump Admin later barred most of the $ actually going to rural hospitals to mitigate some of these cuts.

who knows if jackson can win this thing but i am glad that he is making clear that susan collins's whole scam is to do everything she can to make life worse for mainers and then take credit for mitigating it in the slightest way possible

Troy Jackson after Collins takes credit for rural healthcare cuts in big beautiful bill not being as bad as they could've been even though she voted to advance the bill: "Sen. Collins is like an arsonist who helped set the fire, and then she wants credit for bringing a cup of water to put it out"

"I've seen Matt Dunlap treat people with respect when nobody was watching." Jeff McCabe, former Maine House Majority Leader, wrote about his years knowing Matt, from lending him a rifle during orientation to watching him sit down and actually listen to state workers at the State House.

-U.S. Service Members killed. -Hundreds wounded. -Thousands of civilians dead. And now he’s making flip comments about them taking out 2 American cities. Absolutely disgusting and abhorrent.   It’s past time to invoke the 25th Amendment. Will our Republican colleagues find the courage to do so?

🚨BREAKING: GOP lawyer Cleta Mitchell and convicted election denier Tina Peters are pushing a scheme to have Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick seize voting machines, as part of a broader effort for the Trump administration to interfere with the midterm vote. www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...

Election deniers Cleta Mitchell and Tina Peters want Trump’s commerce secretary to seize voting machines

The problem? No federal official can seize control of election administration from the states and counties, who hold the power run elections under the U.S. Constitution.
