There are small segments of a song that you never forget. The Animaniacs’ “Zimbabwe, Djibouti, Botswana” for example. My favorite is when @benmekler.bsky.social sings “Ferra/Tor, Jacqui Briggs, Kotal Khan”. True ear worm shit. It’s always bouncing around in my head.
I just watched this AND IT IS FANTASTIC.
SEE YOU AT THE GODDAMN MOVIES
This is a really great high concept movie. A group of college friends take a wrong turn and end up on a road that doesn't seem to end. Like ever. A really great premise taken to its best possible conclusion. Loved it.

Anyone else get raptured? Been alone up here with God for like two days. He keeps trying to get me to play Jackbox even though I told Him like fifty times that it’s not that fun with two people
Today we’re talking about the 2007 superhero comedy Underdog with special guest @benmekler.bsky.social. Plus: the expansive Air Bud universe, Jim Belushi’s dog-centric career, and being the Amy Adams of the furry awards. Listen here 🎧: podcasts.apple.com/nz/podcast/u...
Look everyone @benmekler.bsky.social, @chrisamick.bsky.social, and myself want to work on this thing together. Someone help us get this film made animated or not. You know it would be fun.
Everyone contacting me about Root as an animated property: That's cool and all but I still think it would be much more niche and way cooler if we did it with creepy puppets like the Dark Crystal.
No amusement as a parent will ever match the time my three year old daughter learned that Pixies is one of my favorite bands, enthusiastically asked to listen to them, and realized the disparity between reality and what she’d imagined
It’s a simple yet haunting work that’s well-shot, written, and acted across the board, especially for a first feature. It also gets better as it goes along, finding surprising resonances that get at something truthful about how it is we find meaning in a bleak world 📽️ theplaylist.net/it-ends-revi...

IT ENDS: Alex Ullom’s existential horror debut about a group of young friends who get trapped on a never-ending road is the discovery of this year’s #SXSW. It marks him as a filmmaker to watch & is a work I still can't stop thinking about 📽️ My final #SXSW2025 review: theplaylist.net/it-ends-revi...
Doing a gaggle of screeners as SXSW closes but my best of fest so far: The Baltimorons Hallow Road It Ends The Rivals of Amziah King
SXSW kicks off today with a slew of exciting premieres, including the genre-bender IT ENDS, which writer/director Alexander Ullom calls his "horror hangout" movie. The story behind getting it made is pretty wild, too.
‘It Ends’ Filmmaker Discusses Genre-Bending “Horror Hangout” Debut [SXSW Interview]
One of the standouts at this year’s SXSW film festival, at least so far, is writer/director/editor Alexander Ullom‘s feature debut It Ends, an audacious, genre-bending road trip nightmare with a lot o...
