Rotisserie chickens are “decoy” chickens in our house. I once bought one for a meal prep, but when I went to do the prep the next day, the chicken was 3/4 gone. Asked my husband about it and explained the plan, and he said if I wanted to do that, he needed a decoy chicken so I’d have one to use.

hit me with your hyperspecific friend or family slang. when i was a kid my friend once ate too many sour patch kids and then had some ketchup on fries and it was painful because of how acid blasted his tongue was. he told this story a few times, so "a ketchup story" came to mean an oft-repeated tale

Really there are only two kinds of nostalgia. Personal: "things were better when I was younger, healthier, less aware of the world, and with fewer responsibilities" Impersonal: "things were better in this past I read about in a storybook"
