How comics actually work: some pages take an hour and some pages take eight hours and they're not always the ones you'd think. There are sometimes entire weeks taken up by research that MUST be completed before you can progress. And you also must account for several days lost to the Horrors

I think the beauty of Robert Eggers' hyperfixation is a bunch of creative people get disheartened because they think: 'I draw/write/create the same subject over and over and won't people get bored?' (I am also guilty!) But Eggers proves that people love the things you love and they'll want more.

Wacom recently asked me to talk about why I make queer comics, and given there are multiple bills right now floating around in congress that are effectively "we will kill your livelihood if we get a sniff of queer" I had some pretty strong, simply feelings to relay.
these past weeks have been a ride but I just watered my new garden (we moved!) for the first time and maybe life is about these little moments (I love plants a lot ok? and watering plants is on my top 5 best feelings in life)

To our dismay, the artist and author Marjane Satrapi has passed away. As she wrote, ordinary Americans and Iranians have more in common with each other than we do with either of our governments, which have far too much in common with each other. We honor her memory and oppose the war.

as an animator i can't stress enough how important it is to take breaks and do activities that DON'T involve drawing read a book, watch a movie, play a game, learn how to knitt. you'd be surprised how quickly your creative juices get replenished by just enjoying yourselves
