At the same time, OPM is pushing a standardized NDA for roughly 2 million federal workers, while House Oversight has launched an investigation into tax delinquency among federal employees. These actions do not appear unrelated. They fit together.
The tax immunity is the most illegal part. As outrageous as it is to give a settlement to the J6ers, it's within the DOJ's power to negotiate financial settlements on these terms. Tax immunity isn't something that can legitimately be given.
