Farage didn't turn up to the Clacton vote count, claiming he had been told by police that there was an 'organised campaign to disrupt and degrade the result.' But Essex Police have said there were no issues and they gave no advice to any candidate about attending.

Who thinks that to win an election, a candidate ought to have to turn up at the count and be there to be declared a winner? Failing to turn up should be seen as withdrawing and the candidate with the next highest number of votes wins.
