Bikes aren’t the reason why traffic is bad. Cars getting in the way of other cars are. The best way to reduce traffic is to give people other options to get around. That means bikes. And transit. And pedestrian-first streets.
And if you are concerned people aren’t moving enough maybe target car culture, environments built around cars so most places aren’t walkable and so much work we can’t justify a walk.
E-bikes should be thought of not as an alternative to walking but to cars. And the author is welcome to bike my two kids up a hill and see how physically taxing it can be.

NHS cancelling surgeries for adults even after they’ve already paid for travel + accommodation and waited years to get there. Some were about to be wheeled into theatre! Every manager responsible for this decision must be sacked and every patient paid compensation.
