I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful

this is actually a good reminder that you should delete the tracking nonsense off of any url that you share online. just delete everything after the ? (including the question mark) and share like you usually would

Everyone is (rightly) clowning on the Book of Life guy for getting in bed with the AI crowd, but there's a danger that the dopamine hit of outrage overwhelms good news. Like, I've seen dozens of posts about Gutierrez and only one or two about this. We need to be as loud about the good as the bad.

Past: 80’s Waring electric waffle iron, stamped a perfect deep grid for maximum syrup storage! After many, many wonderful breakfasts from childhood through to my late 20’s it started shedding Teflon and had to be thrown out 😢 Current: Palomino Blackwing Matte Pencil. My traditional art staple!

Bored of talking about AI. What’s your favorite piece of low tech? Mine is my Breville sandwich press. No buttons, just plug in and unplug. Great for paninis but also reheating pizza & french fries, cooking chicken cutlets, what have you. Wipe clean with a paper towel and store.

We started rewatching the X-files a couple weeks back (spouse never watched it all the way through, just started season 2) and I am super pleased at the coincidence of quality X-files stuff trickling into my feed at the same time.
