A much needed data driven analysis in the whole "not using the SAT for UC admissions" brouhaha. Note some UCs are sufficiently non-selective to not be informative in the analysis. Yet those faculty still complain how not using the SAT underlies the perceived shortcomings in their students.

This is literally a plot point in “It Can’t Happen Here” by Sinclair Lewis. Written in 1935, it predicts the rise of a fascist populist who promises each family $5,000 per year if he’s elected.

Done framing before but never built a pony wall. Built one to define a space in a detached garage my son is turning into a game room. Even with the two corners had some wiggle. Used scraps from the former owners wood pile to add diagonal and horizontal bracing. Now its bomber. Fun build.

Coronaviruses have big genomes and can play tricks. Including, apparently, with conspiracy theorist minds. "NSP15 cuts viral RNA, yielding oligos that insert at distal locations....SARS-CoV-2 ... furin cleavage site...C19 pandemic. We found numerous examples of furin site acquisition."

The "plan" is to increase enrollment. The "plan" is move courses online. The "plan" is to have cross-campus listings. The "plan" is reduce the need for TAs, and faculty. The "plan" is soul-less, mission-less, fiscal operation. This has been true for a awhile. As always, Trump is a catalyst.
