I have, with my own eyes, watched my tax dollars in the form of missiles as they hit buildings inhabited by civilians. I'd much prefer subsidizing a grocery story I don't use.

Yeah, so, Ohio Dems need to get it together. Ohio Republicans are making it clear they should not be governing.
Next time someone asks you about energy and land use, maybe remind them that the ~35 million acres that currently grow corn for ethanol in the US could produce ~15 PWh per year of electricity from solar photovoltaics. That's ~3.5 times more than *total annual generation from all US power plants*.
Congress goes on recess in August, and your representatives head home. But thanks to gerrymandering, most of them represent safe seats. That means they don't have to worry much about what you think. Safe seats → low accountability. That's exactly what fair maps are designed to fix.
This is the way. Cram enough batteries at the interconnection point to replace the fossil capacity, then add solar and wind beyond that as much as you can. Would be happy with coal to nuclear as well, but the timelines aren't great.

the establishment had its shot for over 30 years. it ultimately resulted in two terms for bush and trump. obama winning just papered over the very deep rot on the inside and now the bill is coming due. it is way past time.
