Chrono trigger is a game that miraculously came together by somehow managing to form the dream team of 3 of the biggest talents of the era, Akira Toriyama, Square's Sakaguchi, and Enix's Horii (among many others who are now big) What would the modern dream team be?

yet another reason to not trust these random social media hitlists the people making them aren't actually reading the content they post, they're just rushing to post it for the sake of posting this is literally just an advertisement at the bottom of the page
honestly i don't think the problem is "creators", i have never worked with anyone in games who did not also take inspiration from elsewhere, the problem is the people with money and who view games as a tech product
Dave Breens@baldbreens.bsky.social · 4d agoA very real problem we're having now is that the medium is no longer new, the new creators are inspired by other video games instead of other art. Miyamoto made Pikmin because he liked being in the garden, but every ONL game is being made because open worlds are cool and UE5 has nice visuals

I was dreading not being able to go to pax west this year because I was sure that Nintendo was gonna have Zelda and Zelda 40th stuff. But they're seemingly not even going so that's a huge relief.
