Some convos in the #NEISvoid discussing the low B12/folate/iron combo that's common in chronic complex disease. So let's talk about the "anemia of infection" or the "anemia of chronic disease". Bit of a 🧵, so don't forget to expand the last skeet you see to continue reading! #LongCOVID #MECFS

MMR is 97% effective. BUT: - Some may not mount a robust enough immune response to vax for a variety of reasons - Protection CAN wane if there's been a major immune disruption, though this is rare - Most pertinent: intense, prolonged exposure to someone with measles can supersede protection

The antihistamine thing has been referenced a few times since the updated COVID shots are rolling out, so bumping the reminder (please read the entire thread before "correcting" me, it's also pinned on my profile)
The dosage and timing for pre-vaccination is EITHER: - 50mg diphenhydramine (Benadryl) OR 50mg promethazine (Phenergan) 15 minutes before the shot OR - 20mg cetirizine OR 20mg loratidine 2-3 hours before the shot Only take one of those (ie, don't take Benadryl AND cetirizine).
Hi friends. I've tried my best to reach out to HBCU's and other Black spaces but still have a very low amount of survey's from Black people. I even e-mailed professors directly and DM'd people online. Please share with any Black people with ME/CFS that you might know of!
Study closes in September! Please share with your networks. I'm hoping to get at least 50 more responses :)
Friends, a major problem in the demographics of ME/CFS studies is the absence of Black participants. If you know of any Black adults with ME/CFS, please suggest that they complete this survey. I have completed it and it is relatively untaxing. Thanks!

The fact that they were going to close 5 libraries, and this will keep them open for SIX MONTHS really shows how much you could do with that much money.
Part of the reason a lot of super rich people are so awful is that when normal people get an absurd amount of money, they immediately start looking around for who they can help.
Rachel Reid, who wrote the popular “Heated Rivalry” novel, has donated $300k to Annapolis Valley Regional Library, “one of the most significant private gifts” in their history. “I credit my local library for being a huge part of the reason I’m a published author today,” Reid said #Halifax #HaliSky
If you put together the season posters for Reacher they tell the story of a large man who can't remember where he put his keys.

tonight my son and i watched A League of Their Own, and he asked if women played professional baseball now. I said “I’m sure they do, let’s look it up” cue to both of us shocked because the Women’s Professional Baseball League is CURRENTLY playing their inaugural season. now. in 2026.
Physical books. You own them. They don't require updates. They don't surveil you or collect and sell your data. They are a genuinely safe hallucinogen that leaves you smarter and more empathetic and with a longer attention span the more you use them. Free from the library. What's not to like?
The children's rights and deconstruction movements were richer for having had him. I'm devastated. Never lose sight of how deeply damaging the American Christian fundamentalism is to those of us who grow up in it. And how much it robs the world of the best of us.

It is a long-established myth in Christofascist circles that rightly structured families are a form of abuse prevention.
Families Are Not Umbrellas (And Other Myths About Abuse Prevention)
Gothard, MacArthur, and the many other rightwing advocates of patriarchal, nuclear families are dead wrong. Fathers, parents, and nuclear families are not magical umbrellas of protection.

Lyme sucks, US healthcare is garbage, and Kate here can tell you all about it. Maybe read the whole thing even if you can't donate. Kate's experience is illustrative. Even with immense advantages in play, they got pretty well screwed. It is EASY to end up in this position, or one far, far worse.
Hello friends near and far 💜 I've reached the end of my savings, frustratingly, just as we've solved the root mystery of my illness (it's Lyme) and are seeing continued success with treatment. I'm asking for your help in bridging the gap between now and when I can hopefully work full-time again.
Huge thanks for that latest anonymous donation, whoever you are ❤️
