Had a drywall screw in the back driver-side tire. Took it in to get repaired and left with half a new car and a maxed out VISA. Get me off this crazy planet.

Got into my writing perch, took off my ball cap, and messed my hair into place. "We need an arrival mirror in here," I said to my barista. "Just use your phone," they said. I held my phone up, tilting it to look into the dark glass reflection. "I meant use the camera..." they said. #grampageorge

I agree strongly with this -- in that difficult moment, the possibility of collective effort was conceivable. Not everybody felt it, but many did. I think the political class did not like this one bit.
Covid lockdowns demonstrated, in a deeply imperfect way, the possibility of large-scale social solidarity for a higher cause. That is a prime reason why so many powerful people want us to run screaming away from them into the comforting arms of selfish individualist competition.

Hello everyone! Many of you likely saw this image recently with the Apple TV+ 'Neuromancer' promotion. Some know, others don't, but this artwork is mine, created alongside actor & post-production artist Milton Menezes, as a personal project and a homage to the original Neuromancer romance
I'm known primarily as a poet, but I started out writing fiction. The last story I published was 25 years ago in Nerve. This summer, I've got a story in The New Quarterly. You can read it now, if you've got a subscription. tnq.ca/story/one-la...

That's an awful lot of good actors to give a very wooden script to.
Given parade of banal office jockeys streaming past our house towards the concert site, I'd say the bill got it wrong. It's Keith SubUrban playing.
I am hiring an assistant at work where I am Executive Director, & I want one of my last interview questions to be: "My name is Frodo Baggins. I carry a heavy burden & the fate of us all. Which member of the Fellowship are you?" I'm not entirely sure this is fair, but it will certainly be revealing.

I was walking today while pondering a poetry problem, and two cars passed, one playing Harry Styles, the other playing Nickelback. Suddenly I realized you can sing the chorus of Watermelon Sugar High to the tune of Photograph. And suddenly the poetry problem was solved. A peek into my weird brain.
You see a guy like Messi keep getting back up and winning after everyone tries to foul him out his whole career and when you're young you think, Damn, that's amazing. But once you're middle-aged you think, Damn, is he ever going to ache one day.
What the Carney’s of the world ignore is even the business case for slashing environmental protections doesn’t work. I work for a small business. We won’t get foot traffic until the smoke clears. No one will buy a coffee, sit on the patio, anything. This hurts business, it’s bad for the economy.

Everywhere Republicans gather, Grindr crashes. Or at least, that's what people have told me about 500 times since my video discussing if homophobia is always rooted in secretly being gay. But is it true? Do republicans constantly crash Grindr whenever they meet? New Video: youtu.be/GHeAJPbx0SI
