borb 🐌 play EMUUROM already

@borbware.itch.io

made EMUUROM, a cryptic exploration metroidbrainia with TIC-80, a fantasy console best suited for far smaller games than this. 🦋 wishlist https://www.emuurom.com/steam 🐸 join disborb https://www.emuurom.com/discord

Maaaan the Halo remake is exhaustingly Modern in its bullshit... Cortana has all kinds of extra tutorial dialogue. The intro of invisible elites, instead of being a scary moment of guys suddenly dropping dead around you, is her going "Invisible elites!! Look for distortions in the air!" Christ alive

i'm listening to the soundtrack again and god, the fucking cover art i drew for my emuurom game rip still cracks me up. i cant really say i'm not an artist with works like this lmao

the "emuurom unofficial soundtrack" cover art, which is a ms paint art drawn by me, featuring a crude replication of the game's logo and "Unofficial Soundtrack" scribed below it. the main feature is a ms paint doodle of the game's scanner, scanning a cassette tape labeled "game rip", while the scanner emits little music notes. borb's logo is underneath it but it is very much unofficial and the logo is kinda goofy looking in this anyway

noticing an increasingly common phenomenon of people online who hate their torment nexus ass propietary software but for some reason refuse to even entertain the idea of learning to use a non-torment alternative.

If you like puzzle platformers and discovering secrets and want a holiday weekend treat, I can’t recommend Emuurom from @borbware.itch.io highly enough. Everything on every screen is there for a reason, and it’s just ridiculous how deep it goes. Impossibly dense and lots of fun.

As the director of a historical video game preservation institution, and someone who has dedicated his entire adult life to this cause, this is accurate. We have attempted to work with the industry's trade organization to find a legal path forward, but they refuse to offer a meaningful alternative.

piracy is the only extant form of media preservation that exists in games right now, you might find it morally reprehensible but there is literally no other institution that will keep games alive in 25, 50 years' time
