Please stop flying your personal drones over wildfires. They can ground or collide with our firefighting aircraft, disrupting time critical firefighting and threatening people’s homes. Your photos are not worth someone’s home. If you fly, we can’t.

I love Talarico and hope he wins. But he’s already raised $70M On the flipside, control of critical state legislatures will come down to seats where candidates raise 0.1% of that. I’ve researched the highest leverage swing district candidates you should donate to secure.actblue.com/donate/donat...

Please stop saying “lockdowns.” There were never true lockdowns in the US, and it fuels far right narratives to repeat this inaccurate statement. You can say closures, you can say restrictions, or better, you can say public health measures which saved many lives.
People still complain about “lockdowns” but we had none in the US. We had stay-at-home orders, where although businesses were closed, you could still go outside whenever you wanted. Other countries had far stricter rules, and yet have been much more accepting of them as they saved many more lives.
New York City friends! The LES cat cafe Koneko is closing tomorrow and needs urgent help rehoming some kitties. This place was very cute and took good care of their cats. Tell cat curious NYC friends that there are kitties that need some homes. www.instagram.com/p/DbbfOxcGu1V/

NBC's kristen welker was caught laughing it up with Stephen Miller. Stephen Miller who architected the family separation policy. Stephen Miller who pushed the Muslim travel ban. Stephen Miller who oversaw the killing of Americans by ICE agents. This is why independent media is crucial.

this comparison leaves out a key point: the Edsel sold roughly twice the Cybertruck's volume at a time when the overall car market was just 6m units/year instead of the current 16m units/year that makes the Cybertruck the much, much bigger flop, hands down

The price hikes and the product disappearances were not the blips of supply and demand – they were the results of behind-the-scenes pressure by Amazon, according to internal emails reviewed by the Guardian and court claims against the world’s largest company. From @georgejoseph94.bsky.social:
‘We were at their mercy’: inside the Amazon tactics that hiked prices across the internet

When I worked in WaPo Opinions in 2017-2018, senior editors specifically told junior editors not to factcheck Marc Thiessen and other MAGA columnists, otherwise they wouldn’t be able to publish anything by them at all, and “we need them for intellectual diversity.”
It’s very telling that opening your publication to MAGA “thought” requires a massive downgrade in quality control.
This weasel-faced totem of inadequacy really puts the “ha” in “alpha”
What the heck is this website they just promoted at the World Cup?
The fact that VP JD Vance and Richard Grenell went to Romania—on behalf of the Trump Administration— to advocate for Andrew and Tristan Tate, who by all accounts, were rapists running a coercive sex ring, then permitted them to come to Florida, should be a crazy, crazy scandal.
THE ODYSSEY's instantly, predictably enormous success is Exhibit #32176 that the right wing's grievance-farming operation is not some great American cultural shift. Most people don't give a shit about their petty crusades.
I remain grimly fascinated by how a YouTube channel that has the backing of The Washington Post (ok, it’s the Post’s dreadful Opinion section, but still) can spew out more than 300 videos and still can’t find even 1,000 subscribers.

Quick advice to any Democrat running for anything or already in office: Every interview, in fact almost every sentence should end with “Trump crime family” or “corrupt.”
It’s baffling how the Democrats haven’t latched on the simple messaging of calling all price increases as “trumped up” — it’s trite, but trite rules the world now. I’ve seen it a few times, but not nearly enough.
Yesterday, WIRED learned that Madison Square Garden was suing us for our accurate reporting. We stand by our work. That’s why we’re removing the paywall from two of the MSG stories they don’t want you to read, making them free for everyone.

Just 10 billionaires have already poured over $600 MILLION into this year's midterms. In the entire 2008 presidential cycle, the last election before Citizens United, total billionaire spending was $16 million. If you're wondering what the real threat to "election integrity" is, it's Big Money.
