Got badly sunburnt while hiking despite clouds and mist all day. Make it make sense! *touches earpiece* Ah, I have just been told I'm a programmer and quote that's what you get for going outside unquote.

You used to be able to google the time of the sunset, and Google would give you the exact time right on top every single time. Thankfully, with artificial intelligence, you can now ask Google what time the sun will set and it will conveniently tell you "I don't know."

one interesting thing so far about loudly hating AI is the way AI lovers are like "wow so you're just totally closed off to hearing another perspective??" as if their perspective hasn't been relentlessly pushed down our throats with no space to push back (particularly in professional settings)

My kingdom for a tech ecosystem that will stop smothering me with apps and devices that constantly try to engage me in conversation against my will

“Use AI or get left behind!” Please, leave me behind. Drop me off on the side of the road somewhere. Sentence me to a remote cabin with a typewriter and some wildflowers that don’t know how to use the internet

Interesting isn't it, that homosexuality (for men at least) is seen as unacceptable by the Evangelicals because it's forbidden in Leviticus. But then so are cheeseburgers.

I appreciated this article by Michael Taggart, on the temptation to use some of these coding tools and the pitfalls, from the POV of an experienced software engineer. This is why it's important to fight these issues collectively rather than at the individual level. taggart-tech.com/reckoning/

I used AI. It worked. I hated it.

I used Claude Code to build a tool I needed. It worked great, but I was miserable. I need to reckon with what it means.

The cool folks from the Eurosky team just brought you a new site: eurosky.tech, portal to the Atmosphere. I'd say it's the crispest explanation so far of what the Atmosphere brings: 1. one account 2. that works with a bunch of apps, and 3. your data from all apps is yours, portable, interoperable.

Israel abolished the death penalty for ordinary crimes in 1954. Today it was reintroduced, exclusively for Palestinians. Fuck the statements of concern from the international community, where are the sanctions?

I’ve never used any of the LLM chatbots, avoided them even in the early days, because they had all the hallmarks of a major cognitive and psychological hazard from the very beginning “I’m not gonna use this shit unless I can be sure it won’t mess me or others up” is an entirely reasonable position
