Supervisor Mitchell expresses support for CicLAvia - but not at expense of Vermont BRT which she supports. Horvath says the "Sophie's Choice" you reference is false.
Congratulations to Loma Linda’s newest councilwoman and mayor (appointed yesterday after being sworn in), my friend Amy Jones!
Two close friends from med school are unable to start residency due to visa approval delays. A third friend is facing potential deportation after a surprise hearing on their asylum status. The Trump Administration is f’ing up these resident physicians’ future & jeopardizing the healthcare system.
Literal "car brain."
“If you drive, your car’s tires are shredding more than tread: they may be mincing up our grey matter too.” New research has discovered “an alarming link between a chemical commonly found in tires and the onset of Alzheimer’s disease.” Via @futurism.com Still think “better cars” are the solution?
tried to take a shadow pic and it turned out like an alien baby on a penny farthing
Every cyclist death is heartbreaking, but it hits even harder when it's an advocate like this. It's infuriating and saddening. These deaths, especially on roads that are known to be dangerous, are simply policy choices.
A cycling advocate and transportation planner for the city of Boston was identified as the cyclist who was struck and killed in a crash near Roxbury Crossing this morning.
I have a few more rotations to finish med school after taking time off. Was initially unready to leave the confines of being a student, but after a few days on rotation I’m feeling ready to move onto the next stage of training & get paid. It never gets easier…just different levels of hard.

Adoption of air conditioning in Europe at U.S. levels would bring massive health benefits, while the emission implications would be minuscule, unlike many suggest - and, done right, it would help the clean energy transition by boosting electrification and clean energy. 🧵

I didn’t shared this here bc I have been figuring out *stuff* but I am grateful to share that I matched at Harbor-UCLA for Family Medicine residency, and have also been granted a 1-year deferral to start. I get to return home for training and will get strong, thorough training in the county system.
Spot on op-ed from Payton Rockwood asking California state leaders to give urban rail transit the #SB79 treatment - i.e. preempting local veto over rail lines: www.latimes.com/opinion/stor....
Contributor: The Wilshire subway took 46 years. Future projects should skip the decades of objections
California can't afford to entertain lawsuits and stalling by local entities. Transit, like housing, is too important to let NIMBYs interfere.

Travelled to Korea. Didn’t Post about it. Was in a daze for most of it. 2026 has been a year of being stuck, spinning in circles, questioning myself and everything. Trying to get out of my patterns and regain some agency.
This is about control of Torrance City Council. A coordinated MAGA-aligned slate is running together. If they win, they govern together. If you don’t want that majority, the decision is simple: 🗳️ Fire MAGA on June 2

"More investment in permanent housing is needed so people have a place to go and don’t get stuck in interim beds where they eventually get fed up or kicked out," says BHHI Director Dr. Margot Kushel MD. https://ow.ly/3XNQ50YMSbS
In L.A. County, many homeless people enter shelters, only to end up back on the streets
More than half the people who exit interim housing in Los Angeles County leave for the streets or unknown locations.

Been having some real existential crises lately about what exactly I’m doing with my life. Feel like I woke up from a 5 year slog of med school & policy work and am looking at the start of a grueling residency when there are many things I’ve worked on and could do. Always living life on hard mode.
reasonable, weho dropped the bomb of confirming that her motion as written would kill the EIFD, which meant that if Bass want to own any of the process at all, or have any input, she had to accept guardrails that keep the project on track. Is it insane that we're still coddling 22 freaked-out
