It’s a good song but the reason is we are in a historic drought of bangers. “Not Like Us” dropped TWO YEARS AGO. This cannot stand. The people need a new banger.
Ella Langley’s country tune “Choosin’ Texas” entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart last November, and it hasn’t left. In recent years, certain songs seem to hang around for a long, long time. Our critic Wesley Morris discusses why this is happening.
kilt guy downright relieved by the end of this, it could have been so much worse dudes rock so hard
Where did they even find some of these?
🚨🚨New podcast! We had nothing to talk about and so we chattered on way too long! We talk Twins, Quinn Hughes, Drake Lindsey's leadership, and ignore why everyone's asking how come we did two episodes this quarter shows.acast.com/sportive/epi...

This was a good read imo, especially the first point. Even read it aloud to my 11 & 14yo. https://mattbruenig.com/2026/08/31/more-thoughts-on-ai/

My wife doesn’t bother to correct her grocery list typos because she knows what she means so it’s: - uncristables - bageals - childish ranch (???) - elite dip
this is one of my favorite visual jokes of all time. i think about it several times a week.
I’ve seen this 100x and every time it’s posted I drop everything to watch it again. I’ll step out of a meeting if I have to.

Begging anyone gullible enough to believe this to talk to an actual human under 25yo. The kids are fine. Life hasn’t changed.
kids today are literally confused about whether "partying" was real or an urban legend
Saw sombr last night @ Red Rocks and man, that was an all-timer. It’s rare to see someone laser focused on making it an epic show. He sang the shit out of his songs, danced, hugged his band members, ran into the crowd….all that on top of his many legit bangers made for a perfect night.
How does daylight savings “shorten winter days”???? It changes the time it’s light out. You don’t gain sunlight ffs. Darkness at 4:45 at night obviously blows. Having it stay dark until like 9am is much worse. We tried this a few decades ago and people hated it.

Got a speaker for my office at my new job and played Geese a little louder than necessary to gain cred with the young cools. Multiple walk-bys, pop-ins, etc, no comment. Disaster. Need to regroup.
zero hyperbole one of the best episodes of television ever made
It's my birthday, and as I often do on my birthday, I'd like to share a rec for an episode of TV that's special to me. Peak dad day: coached my 8th grade hoops team to a 5th place finish in state and then horrified my kids in the car by playing a max volume “Wuthering Heights.”
Absolutely tore through “The Believers.” Best book I’ve read in forever. Compulsively readable novel about the AIDS crisis in mid-80s Chicago and the present day aftermath. Gonna be thinking about this one for a long time. 10/10 stars.
won Sopranos trivia tonight with @randballsstu.bsky.social @mjneuman.bsky.social and @broxey.bsky.social
