A (badly needed!) success story for UK academia: we received the most ERC Advanced Grants this year (62). Other stats: success rate was 9.6%; applications up 31%; proportion awarded to women isn't provided but looks fairly low (~20% in life and physical sciences, ~35% social sciences and humanities)
