Just a weird neurodivergent lefty nerd trying to be a decent human being and make, modify & fix things. What kinda things? More or less anything. Art, models, games, cars, society. You know, things. He/him/his (mostly).

My Grandad died last year. He was a keen amateur sailor. Every year we all got RNLI Christmas cards; he helped organise a concert at the Royal Festival Hall in their support. Even if I weren't 100% in favour of open borders to start with, you would never convince me to stop supporting the RNLI.

I’ve worn a grubby RNLI cap for decades. I sound London, but I was born in Truro and I was a basically feral (Gen X) kid wandering the coast path with a dog until sunset for a lot of my early life. The lifeboats are in the fabric like trawlers and farms and pasties and fish and chips.

The worst part of the Assisted Dying debate is people assuming it’s black and white. They think if you oppose the policy, you oppose giving people the choice. I support the right to die. What I don’t support is offering it to disabled people instead of medical treatment.

I've been doing trans rights related work for a decade and I don't think I've ever had so many friends in community in crisis. People are cracking under the weight of the despair of the current moment. I don't know what to do at this point. It's all so incredibly heavy.

The 19th Stormtrooper Battalion have had a half-platoon attached to the Steel Legion 235th for a few weeks now, but have already completed several successful and high profile missions. The troopers of the 235th are not too keen on these Glory Boys swooping in and stealing all the fame and glory.

Got over £800 of bills coming up this week. It's also my birthday on Tuesday, so the best present you could give me is to buy some of my stuff! Just added some more oldhammer to hopefully tempt some bites. Appreciate you all 💙

A trans man in the UK has been banned in the workplace restrooms after he was forced to use the women's restrooms to comply with the new EHRC guidance. The women complained because he is visibly male and so they told him he can't use any bathroom.

A screenshot of a Reddit post from the r/LegalAdviceUK subreddit by user Dijstraanon, titled "FtM transgender facing two different issues at work? England."
The post text reads:
"Brother in law is trans FtM and presents fully as a man. He's now facing an impossible situation at work with his employer telling him that due to recent legislation he must use the toilet of his birth gender. BUT several female colleagues have raised a grievance about him using their gendered toilet.
His employer has told him that he cannot use the toilet while he is at work until they sort it out and cannot give him a timeframe to do so. They do [cut off] have disabled separate toilets.
In the mean time one of his female colleagues has accused him of sexual harassment because he was used their gendered toilet. His menstrual cycle meant he needed to use the toilet.
He's been with the employer for just over 5 years but only in this location for 18 months. The location is mainly male with just a handful of females, and his workshop only has male toilets.
I do not know how to support him and as he's not in a union there is no one to turn too right now."

Figure I should finally and properly make a pinned post so hi, I prattle on about whatever I'm interested in but mostly I'm about painting wargame minis. Here's some of my works:

So I do still work on models sometimes. These are the #Battletech 'mechs I'm working on just now. I've shown detail on both Riflemen and the Orion before, but the Crusader, Atlas and Marauder II are more or less finished today. I, err. You know, I question my decision-making sometimes. #Nerdlings

A lance and a half of Inner Sphere Battlemechs for Battletech (six mechs). From left to right there is an Atlas AS7-D, a Rifleman RFL-3N, A Marauder II MAD-5A, a Crusader CRD-3R, an Orion ON1-K and a Rifleman RFL-8D. They have all had all of the mould flash cleaned off and been modified and cleaned up cosmetically in various ways.Close up of the Marauder MAD-5A showing the cleaned-up lines of the 'mech (the cockpit especially was a lot of work) and the added whip aerial on top of the 'mech.Close up of the Atlas AS7-D showing the added aerials either side of the "head," drilled gun barrel on the AC-20 and other details. I toyed with the idea of reshaping the chest plate into squares like the MechWarrior 5/MechWarrior Online model, but it didn't look great so I patched it back up with superglue.Close up of the CRD-3R Crusader showing the individually drilled missile tubes on the arm-mounted LRM-15 launchers and cleaned-up lines.
