You know, I'm on board for the Neuromancer show, but the very idea makes me remember why I prefer film adaptations of books to TV adaptations. So much of the pleasure of a book is in its completeness. Even installments in a series feel more satisfyingly self-contained than any season of TV.

I'm a huge Conan fan, but these figures are mathematically correct. Even though Conan pulls out some amazing victories against animals, he usually needs at least a knife.

Man, there's this weird fuckin' phenomenon where vaunted "auteurs" in collaborative art forms apparently huff their own farts enough to forget that far more talent and artistry than just their own went into their most celebrated works. Appreciate your goddamn collaborators, Jesus Christ.

@jeffparker.bsky.social and I formed a theory a while back that there's a sizable segment of readers think of the folks who make comics as journalists who just report what happened to the characters they follow. Not creators crafting a story, but sportswriters recapping a ballgame.
