Just to reiterate point #1: Bodies of Magic is very, very, very good. You are going to want to get it when it comes out in a few weeks. It may well be Freya Marske's best book yet. It felt very personal and made me feel very seen.

This might be a bit niche, but it’s very annoying hearing of organisations saying “well it’s the law to segregate trans people so hands are tied” when most of them respond to accessibility law with “eh who’s gonna catch us?”
This story speaks to me because I think a lot about how people expect romance from close relationships. Especially if two dudes are close people tend to assume there has to be something romantic there. And like, what if there just isn’t, what if there didn’t need to be?

The only *guaranteed* piece of craft advice I can give -- I mean the advice that is universally applicable -- is that if you kill many other writers and eat their scribere gland (roughly the size of a black-eyed pea, so be careful not to damage it) then your prose will improve immensely

You thought about every choice and will be able to talk about those choices easily and clearly. Folks who used the slop machine didn't make choices and won't have anything to say about why
