Words at newspapers and magazines. Prior editing paychecks from CBS, The Athletic, and The New York Times. How people use a language is what the language is. She/her. Be kind.

Bossier as in Bossier City and Bossier Parish, Louisiana, rhymes with "closure," in case you wondered. I used to live across the river and did some work there a number of times. Wouldn’t go back if you paid me. Not with so much anti-trans hatred there. Louisiana is not a safe state for me.

Too many people and news organizations are glossing over Cunningham's comments about how she wants to “protect young girls in a locker room, or young girls in sport who shouldn’t have to go against biological men.” They're quoting it, but not unpacking it. A lot to unpack there. Do better.

On the day my country implements a bathroom ban it means so much to be in a room full of awesome trans people, trans elders, and cool folks working on something amazing ❤️‍🩹✊ The fight goes on till we’re all free

Therapy was draining, but good and necessary. I am so exhausted. Punchy. Sick, tired. I can't think and I can't move. I'm just a dead lump of poured-out flesh. (1987 movie reference)

In Bari Weiss' Free Press, Olivia Reingold reported from El-Sayed's watch party that "there were keffiyehs as far as the eye could see ... keffiyehs on heads, keffiyehs as belts, keffiyeh-printed phone cases." Not a single one made it into images from Reuters, a local ABC station, or Detroit News.

Nick Saban built the proverbial fence around Louisiana to keep in-state recruits at home, turning LSU into SEC champs in 2001 and 2003 (both years beating Tommy Tuberville teams), the second time winning the BCS national title. I think Tuberville is confused about building walls around states.

Tuberville: "If we don't straighten out this country's voting and immigration system, we're not gonna make it. It's gonna be over. I'm gonna go back to Alabama and hey, we might build a 30-foot wall around our state."

Jenifer Lewis said it best: 35.9 million people sat out 2024, and we don’t let that shit happen again. Not this time. Not with 90 days on the clock and everything on the line. Speak out, knock louder, make it impossible to ignore. It’s on all of us to flip it all blue. #BlueWaveIn90Days

"Well, sure he is the nominee now, but he eats his peas one at a time. That's what I heard. Maybe not, but there's something about him I don't like. I just don't know what it is yet."

Worth a watch. Never knew Whoopi’s role as Sister Mary Clarence in Sister Act was originally intended for Bette Midler. Can you imagine?? Legit can’t even picture anyone other than Whoopi playing this role. Love hearing Black Elders talk about their experiences. ✨

In other Michigan news, the state looks set to elect it's first transgender lawmaker. Joanna Whaley won her Democratic primary and will compete in November for a state house seat, beating a primary opponent who tried and failed to disqualify her for not running under her deadname

Your little oopsie "mistakes" had me worrying for a year of my life about my partner going to jail for up to a decade based on lies likely fed to you by the top of the federal government. Show everyone what you're covering up in these emails and texts. There's a reason you don't want them released.

It’s wild to have been a cashier in the “we’ll accept a personal cheque if we know you or if you seem cool” era and still be here for the “money is fake now, tap your phone on The Tablet and I’ll release your coffee” days

Update: the training run of the new Amtrak Cascades trainset will happen on Thursday but only go from Seattle to Vancouver, Washington. Get your cameras ready! Times subject to fluctuate since it's not a normally scheduled train. 💚🤎🤍
