1989☆They/Them. Awkward coydog. Vet professional, ex-writer. Spends a lot of time in old cemeteries. Not good at art, but tries anyway!

Speaking as your friendly neighbhood, sex positive asexual: Just write/draw your own smut instead of using AI. Please. I beg of you. Its so much healthier for your brain and nerve endings I PROMISE.

Sometimes I look at the political state of my country, and think how angry my writing professors would be at me for being "too obvious, too on-the-nose, too cartoonish" if I was penning any of this.

Tim Curry had been doing poorly ever since he had a major stroke back in 2012. Amazingly, he still did the occasional VA work, voicing Auntie Whispers in 2014. Theres an ethereal frailness to her because of what he went through. He, like Dolly, was an amazing human being.

Some people might not be aware, but it is entirely possible that without Dolly Parton we wouldn’t have had a COVID vaccine. She partly funded Moderna’s research and gave the largest individual contribution to make it all happen. Just gives you an idea of the kind of person she was.

A fun thing about being Covid Concious is everyone ignoring you, or flat out making fun of you. Until they get Covid. And then the person who was laughing at your mask is now blowing up your phone begging for advice.

I wonder if Cassandra wishes she were born in the time of tv psychics. I wonder if Jesus judged the structure of the cross he carried because of his carpentry background. I wonder if Orpheus bursts into tears whenever he hears The Hokey Pokey

I was absolutely DELIGHTED to find this unfinished piece from one of my favorite artists at the art museum. There's so much value in seeing sketch work with finished paintings. That is an absolute Greyhound Face if I ever saw one. Landseer understood dog body language so well. I just love it.

Discomfort is an essential part of growth and wouldn’t it be so embarrassing to be the exact same person thirty years from now, in a totally different world, because you were so averse to discomfort?

Once you start noticing how the incapacity to handle discomfort affects how people live their lives it's actually pretty shocking how it ruins pretty much every conceivable aspect of existence. Interpersonal relationships, romantic and platonic. Career and education opportunities. Your politics Your willingness to go anywhere. The kind of food you eat. The kind of art you expose yourself to and your ability to read it. It's never just one thing, it touches everything, and once you notice it it's like suddenly being able to see germs or something. Just this horrific catastrophe people look at you askance for screaming about. As I grow older and see what became of my friends and peers who could not learn to handle discomfort, the more I'm like. This is a genuine societal issue

Increasing my discomfort tolerance has also been one of the greatest assets to improving my mental health.
