a lot of what the right does nowadays is create an emotional support system for bigots. bigotry will offend and alienate people in your life, so the right looks provides a counterweight that lavishes you with praise.

it always baffled me how guys would look at our women classmates notes and just think “shes good at taking notes” when i would take one look at the flawlessly written color-coordinated notes with subsequently added insights and annotations and immediately realize shes the best physicist in our class

Anyway, your problem isn‘t finding the time to take notes. The problem is that taking notes is thinking and thinking has to be done by someone. women have been doing a lot of metacognition that looks like a task when it’s really thinking.

I think the “no sex scenes are ever necessary” people are very stupid and I do not take them seriously in any way, but I often think of the sex scene in NotR as being particularly important for Adso’s character development and motivation throughout the story.
