Hi! I won't be on socials for the next 1-1.5 months. I feel a little sad doing this since I've recently connected with a few new friends here! But this is something I've been planning on doing for, like, a month, and I desperately need it.
Andreana is on summer break

Do you know that the US Postal Service has proposed a new rule that would allow it to refuse to deliver mail ballots in states that don't turn over voter rolls to the federal government? This is part of Trump's effort to interfere with the 2026 midterm election. Submit a public comment by July 2
If you were at the Trans March in SF and witnessed police brutality, vehicular violence, or anything else, DM me or hit me on Signal @misoshnik.13 I’ll be writing about this for @lcrw.news
SFPD brutalized queer and trans people in the Transgender District of SF after a Pride march. In case anyone still thinks cops belong at Pride.

TONIGHT Several people were arrested at the end of the Trans March, the kick-off event for San Francisco Pride weekend. Police officers ran into the crowd & handcuffed people, allegedly for earlier acts of vandalism. People were heard yelling "Get off him!" & "What the fuck?!"
It has been damaging since Web 2.0, over 20 years of ad-speak poisoning human art.
No other word has done more damage to the craft of writing in recent years than “content”. Even if you’re using the word “content” ironically, or as a cute little joke, don’t. When someone calls writing “content” they’re pissing on someone’s hard work & passion. “Content” is Technosatan’s henchword.

"I find it interesting that trans women, in particular, are under so much attack during a time when the AI industry is so keen on selling men a fake girlfriend."

I heard the world was ready (it was readier than ever) for future outbreaks, but I have also heard that laboratories in the Democratic Republic of Congo have run out of supplies to test for Ebola, which says many things about this world, but not that it’s ready.
realized anything in the public domain can be a zine and i am drunk with power!!!!
The recent talk about Tupac's likeness appearing in a video game reminds me of the Frida Kahlo situation. There are a lot of reasons I don't believe in ghosts, but somewhere on the list is "If she could have, Frida would have haunted a lot of ppl to death by now."
Ted Chiang's essay about LLMs not having consciousness was a magnificent, hyper-logical diss track. I might wanna see if I can morph some of his ideas and talking points into button pin slogans ❤️🔥 www.theatlantic.com/philosophy/2...
No, Artificial Intelligence Is Not Conscious
Taken to its logical conclusion, this line of thinking is absurd—and damning.

Two Marys’ Makers Market in Alameda today was super fun! ☀️The sun was shining, people turned out en masse, I saw a few friends, and two old ladies flirted with me. Not to mention I made good sales and sold out of fan favorite print, “Masks” 🎭
some new-ish framed #artwork I'll have for the Two Marys' Makers Market in Alameda on Saturday! There's a mix of small drawings and collages. More to come! (whatever doesn't sell will eventually wind up on ko-fi)
something I've noticed this year that I really love: more people have been drawn to my small, weird, one-off drawings. That's the category of best-selling and best-enjoyed items at events. There's a few things that makes me consider...

Persepolis was read all over the world—a true international phenomenon. Assigned in every class subject under the sun. During the Obama years, West Point cadets were assigned the book. There's never been anything like it; never anyone like her. What an awful world that couldn't hold her longer.
Ancient folklore characters populate contemporary anime and manga from Spirited Away to Dan Da Dan. We look at why these supernatural beings have captured people’s imaginations, and how they made the transition from premodern Japan to shows that kids watch on their devices today.
Episode 304: How Folklore Spirited Anime Away — Imaginary Worlds
Anime and manga are a global phenomenon, and their popularity continues to grow. Many of these stories are populated by supernatural beings called yōkai. Even though yōkai can be portrayed as ghosts, ...

People will say it's "Tech Week" here in NYC. Well, any event run by Andreessen Horowitz is illegitimate, because the NYC tech community has values, and one of its most fundamental is its humanity. They have forfeited theirs.
