“The Greens had written to the Speaker and met with him “multiple times” about the “demonstrable fact” there was uneven standards being applied.” These uneven standards are what sexism & racism look like - it’s disturbing Parliament alongside mainstream media can’t muster the energy to call it out.

Some days my body is traitorous. Woke up with hot skin all down my back right side, feeling unbalanced & uncoordinated on left. Doing the wall crawl thing whenever I leave my office. What the heck! I'm guessing it's related to my neurological issues, which have been steady for so long. Le sigh.

Alan left his electric blanket on low all day. Asked if he'd forgotten it was on. Sabrina 🐈‍⬛ was asleep & seemed happy so 🤷🏼‍♀️ Uh huh…

foreign minister making increasingly racist, extremist & conspiracy remarks whose party was recently shown to have structural links to neo nazis & National dont see that as a red line draw your own conclusions i guess, but i’d also appreciate it if early warning signs were taken seriously in future

Nicola Willis and Mark Mitchell suggested this morning that firing Winston Peters would bring down the Government. www.thepost.co.nz/politics/361...

Arrived home to a small birb in my art room. I suspect it got in with, how should I put this, assistance 🐈‍⬛ Now I need to catch & release it without it doing scared bird poo on every single thing in the room…

A small bird in front of a window. There are streets of paper in front of it.

I’m feeling very unsettled and super aware tonight. Not anxious - just idk, wary? Probably combination of back to work tomorrow so dealing with bird flu prep, Mt Ruapehu unsettled, Tony’s 80th coming up, and so on. But tonight it’s right up here.

I’m trying to to get confident with landscape layers on the gel plate. Using reasonable quality paper in case I suddenly nail it. But there’s a wee issue … Sabrina 🐈‍⬛ hair 😳😖 I swear she slept on the gel plate while I was out.

A small landscape with dark blue sky and purple mountains.

Watching the start of Grand Designs or something. The absolute privilege in the initial commentary turns my stomach. “Living by the sea adds to your life. Is your home a sanctuary?” & so on. Then a house around 8 times the size of my 3 bedroom home. I’m sure they’ve worked hard for it, but…

My sister rang for a chat girl on her way to meditation. Had to give up. For some reason my voice had suddenly gone, so pushing enough oxygen thru to get any volume was making me breathless. A - are your lungs ok? Me - yes (squeak) It’s not often it’s that bad. No ideas what triggered it.

It looks like the paint viscosity matters a lot for the effect I'm wanting. I don't have red in the right paint type (too thick, too thin). I'm going to abandon my green & red colour scheme. I might go for purple and orange & see what happens. I'm determined to get this right!

I’ve been saying the cookers are going to be a nightmare with bird flu. Can’t provide any context bc of discoverability as a local govt worker but omfg here we go 🤬

Obsessively pursuing a gelli print idea. Figuring out, through trial & error, how to remove the elements I don’t want. I can see this year’s Christmas cards cure my staff with have discarded gelli print backgrounds 😂

I love listening to the radio. But why do radio copywriters think adverts that SHOUT at me will convince me to hand over my money? I actively avoid those companies, thanks!

I wonder if the “Don't panic. There's still only a handful of cases in Australia" brigade will admit things are about to change there & will here at some point too. It'll shift from "gee, cases are going up" to "oh my god, the growth is exponential." citynews.com.au/2026/bird-fl...

🧵 I've been sleeping badly for a few days now and consequently not feeling that great. I've just come to lie down for a bit, and I've realised why. At the end of August, Tony would have turned 80. It's a big moment that we're not going to have together, and already my brain's preparing for it.

As most of you know, I lost both my parents to dementia related illness. I've always supported dementia charities because of this, and next month I'm taking part in a fundraiser called Move for Dementia. I'm hoping to raise $500, so any small $ amount is appreciated 😊

Beckie's Dementia Fundraiser in Move for Dementia 2026

Hi there I am trying to fundraise $500 to help Alzheimers New Zealand. I lost both my parents to dementia so this cause is really important to me. Any money you can give (no matter how large or smal...
