There’s a spot on 4th at Lenora where the left turn lane starts and it seems like a parking spot (or 4) but it’s the turn lane. I’ve FiFi’d requests to paint the curb, but no luck. Tonight I drove up as someone was parking. I rolled down my window to inform them it’s not a spot.

Hope everyone is ready for the race tomorrow! We spent the afternoon making signs to hand out during the race, make sure you arrive early if you want one! We'll start with a pre-race rally promptly at 5 but the race won't start until 5:20 in case you are running late.

Fix the L8@fixthel8.bsky.social · 4w ago

Bus lanes on Denny are getting painted THIS WEEKEND! Join us and Mayor Wilson to celebrate with another Race the L8 on Tuesday, September 8th at 5 PM at Denny Park! Lets prove that she Fixed the L8 and that it's finally faster than walking!

Was trying to help give some kids directions while waiting for the bus at 3rd & Main. Bus arrived and did not stop, I guess because I didn’t flag him? And he had a green? Just drove straight through. I managed to sprint after and catch him at 4th & Jackson. wtf. Bothered and sweaty.

My theory: the Sounders collapsed when Poch didn’t play CR7 for a single second when up 2-0 in Seattle. Cristian was then injured in training and hasn’t come back since. He’s the heart of the team and without him they are lost. This darkest timeline began at 90+6 on June 19.

So, random but - if you do work for WSDOT, the contract you sign includes a passage about not using your cell phone while driving. Presumably if you did something like this you’d be in breach of contract. I’m slack-jawed at the idea @nytimes.com wouldn’t do anything against employees who do this.

I’m getting very tired of all the @nytimes.com reporters making videos from their cars while driving. It’s unnecessary distracted driving that could get someone hurt.

New York Times correspondent River Akira Davis distracted driving while reporting.

We have season tickets to the Kraken, Torrent, and Sounders, plus 10 Mariner games a year. Also Seattle Rep and 5th Ave theaters. That all is about equal to what the second car (we don’t have) would cost. Can’t wait to remove the first car and really go nuts. I think major travel will be the add.

You have a lot of money for other things when you aren't making a payment every month for a car, insurance, fuel, maintenance, and parking.

Aw, what’s that? A crash and lane closure on I-90? Too bad for you, suckers! (Yes I know I shouldn’t post this like 5 min after the second train derailment this month but gosh this feels good and this is what this thing was MADE for)

I think I’m ok with permanent daylight savings. The key point is, keep summers the way they are. They are amazing. 10:30pm, still light out? Some of the best days. Winter is dark all the time. An hour won’t change that. Just don’t ruin summer.

“The COGE panel found that these regulations have allowed non-experts to undermine DOT’s planners and designers, drained city resources with repetitive feedback sessions, and set back desperately needed revamps in a city where roughly 50,000 people are injured” in traffic each year.

New Yorkers demanded that the city ditch time-consuming reviews that undermine street safety redesigns while several politicians hoped to cling to their power to delay projects in testimony on Monday before a mayoral government efficiency commission.

We’re in AZ this week. My parents’ friend came over, heard we were from Seattle. “Oh, it must be nice getting away from all that soccer insanity!” That thud yall heard an hour ago? That was my jaw hitting the ground. Def not. Missing it terribly!! ⚽️🎉⚽️

Saw a cool inclusive space created at Convict Lake near Crowley Lake, CA. Here’s an idea for what Coexist Lake WA could advocate for if they actually wanted to increase accessibility to natural space. Trail sign was at each end of trail.

Photo of a large accessible fenced space with a sign identifying it as a “wheelchair-accessible fishing deck”. Beyond the deck is a beautiful lake framed by mountains.Photo of the sign identifying the Convict Lake Accessible Trail. Key info includes the length (0.3 mi), grade (typical and maximum), tread width (max and min), cross slope (typical and max), trail surface (asphalt), and date constructed (September 2015).
