Causeway Studios is proud to be anti-AI! Our games tell human stories (with a big dose of the supernatural). If you ask players to feel real human emotions, you need to craft those experiences by hand. Players expect authenticity. AI is the opposite of authentic. Expect better from your games!

This week's #QuestionsWithCauseway is about our community. Indie devs continue to make magic under the harshest of circumstances. Sometimes a kind word makes all the difference. So this week, we want to know... What's your favorite indie game of the year so far?

Titanium Court image with three Titanium Court signs (two billboards and a road sign) and three blue men with pink hair.

I also want to say that I was 100% blown away with Fallout Fan Celebration in Goodsprings last year. Everyone was just there vibing but the moment someone needed help we all came out of the woodwork. Didn't matter if you were a just a fan, a Fallout dev, an actor, or a Goodsprings resident. [1/3]

We're dedicating this week's #QuestionsWithCauseway to the game devs that bring us joy, tears, laughter, and moments that we'll remember forever. This week, we're asking our team (and you!), "What's your favorite gaming moment? This could be in-game or something in the community!

One of my all time favorite gaming moments was clearing UCOB in FFXIV. It wasn't my first ultimate, but I was still decently new to raiding so I struggled a lot with the fight and was convinced I wasn't good enough to do it. But we ended up getting the clear after a month of trying!

Playing FFX in high school was the first time ever that I went "Wait, video games can have stories like this??" and it likely changed the entire trajectory of my life. It didn't make me suddenly want to be a writer, but I think it subconsciously played a major role in picking my major and career.

I am a simple woman... between wanting a new Burnout game and the sheer on the same wavelength of unhinged as the dev team and I are... Bruh, I just want Truck-kun is Supporting Me from Another World?! Schrödinger's Cat Burgler has been my recently released fav this year thus far though.

The Summer game flood is upon us, and we're all catching our breath from a couple of weeks of machine gun style announcements. So... which was your favorite? What game has you the most excited? +5 points if its an indie! -100,000 points if it uses GenAI! Choose... wisely. :)

1. My fav is Raichu! I always thought the design was cute and I am convinced a Raichu would make a great cuddle buddy. 2. Hmmm... Honestly maybe Vulpix. I can be kinda cute, derpy, and aloof at times, but I won't be afraid to burn people when they make me really mad.

This week's #QuestionsWithCauseway is a double-header, and we want to catch them all. (Your answers... we want to catch all your answers.) First... who is your favorite Pokémon? And... If you were a Pokémon, which would you be? I choose you... Magikarp!

If you are going with recorded hours on Steam, Fallout: New Vegas remains my most played title at 530hrs+. But... I think The Legend of Dragoon might overtake that with how many times I have replayed that title and saved over old files on 2 memory cards + files on emulators. :x FFX as well!

Can you really know someone if you don't know what game has stolen more of their life than any other? In this week's #QuestionsWithCauseway, we're asking our team (and YOU) what game you've spent the most time with in your entire life. We're all ears!

You Must Build a Boat

Now, I've been gaming off & on since the 80s, & there are some old games that I still replay & many games I've racked up 100s of hours in. So it makes perfect(ly no) sense that my answer to this question is Splatoon 3, which came out in 2022. 4355 hours & counting. 😅

Screenshot from the Nintendo Store app showing my play activity stats for Splatoon 3. I first played on September 9, 2022, have played for a total of 1078 days, or over 4355 hours.

Marvel snap. I’ve put over 1000 hrs on the digital card game. It’s a ton of fun. Nothing I’ve ever played comes even close to time spent.

Dungeon Meishi. I think there are already a few games in this formula, but I want a dungeon-crawling cooking game with all the characters. This game already kinda makes sense though considering the creator Ryoko Kui was a massive fan of Baldur's Gate and other CRPGs.

A special Saturday edition of #QuestionsWithCauseway (because we forgot to do it yesterday)! We've all imagined video games based on our favorite movies, books, and TV shows. So... which IP do you want to see turned into a game... and what genre should it be?

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Xbox Game

Lycoris Recoil as an action/coffe shop management game. Serve guests at Lyco Reco, then go after bad guys as Chisato and Takena. Get the whole voice cast back and give us lots of fun adventures

Rhythm games. Fuser was *so close* to doing something truly unique and transformative for the genre... until Epic acquired Harmonix and turned the promising ideas powering Fuser into mtx-focused Fortnite content.

They just don't make them like they used to... or make them at all anymore, in some cases! For this week's #QuestionsWithCauseway, we want you to practice necromancy... let us know which genre needs to have a renaissance. Who knows, maybe someone is listening!

One of my top comfort shows is definitely Star Trek: Enterprise. For a super quick watch comfort show, The Haunting of Hill House I can get through in one day. Really any Harold Ramis film are my comfort movies though. ☠️ Bedazzled & Ghostbusters are my main go-tos.

Let's be real. Things are tough right now, and we could all use an emotional warm blanket. In this week's #QuestionsWithCauseway, we want to know... What's your favorite comfort movie or television show? (Seriously... we need some new suggestions.)
