I read over 100 books a year and about 60% of them are spy/thriller/murder mystery ranging from very low to middle brow. The idea that there’s not enough mass market books for men is bizarre to me.

i would be willing to read “criticism” of “cozy lit” if the author dared to carefully compare it to: 1. detective mysteries (the old school kind) 2. forensic procedurals 3. “hard” scifi as if there isn’t something deeply comforting about genius men, murder, and the make-believe of ~technology~

Sometimes I like going onto videos criticizing booktok women because the comments are full of people like this who most definitely do not read nearly as much as the people they're criticizing. "nobody will read dune". You know. Dune? the very niche book no one has ever read or wants to read?

It really depends on how you define the parameters of “death,” and whether it has to hang or find resolution before the end of an issue or two. The only real concentrated, in-continuity, line-wide “Batman is dead” storyline was the period following Final Crisis.
