With the warm weather lately the server rack has been running warmer than I would like. It didn't come with a cover for the top anyway, so some modifications to a sheet of plastic later now it does. I'll eventually add an esphome controller for the fans so I can do some smarts with them.

The underside of the custom top cover I made for our network rack. It's a sheet of black plastic with metal rails for strength. Four very large comouter fans blow air out the top.The custom top cover now installed into the rack, quietly moving air to keep it cooler in there.

The DC Metro is out here doing absolutely wild things with commuter trains, I don't know how they have managed to create a washboard road effect on a tracked vehicle. Absolutely out of the box wild thinking going on in our nation's capitol region I tell you what.

"you're still eating taco bell? aren't you scared you're gonna get the diarrhea parasite" ok do you spurn a lover for fear of hidden daggers? or do you forfeit certainty as the price of adventure 🤷‍♀️

Oh boy, getting serious now. The labels on the boxes lie, this is a stack of ZD420d units. We've had enough revenue to do a fleet upgrade and keep our rental prices the same! I am once again very very limited on garage space. Time to sell the old stuff, yay.

A stack of 24 Zebra label printer boxes, with one additional unit on top just for show. They are taking up too much space in my garage.

Alright let's see if dropping this much money for a lot of 22 label printers pays off. Looking forward to spending less time fiddling with them to make sure they're aligned before each event...
