Stargazing before bed. Lots of small noises from animals shifting around in the trees and bushes. When I let my eyes adjust to the night sky, I can see the silhouette of a bat hunting mosquitoes & other bugs. I saw two satellites go over, one my star guide app named & one anonymous.

The Sisyphean nature of cleaning up the kitchen has really been getting me down lately, but I tried really hard today and it definitely feels like it’s improving. After an eternity of always having something that still needs to be cleaned up or washed, I’m grateful for finally seeing progress. 🙌
I am so lucky to have been gifted this beautiful portrait of my girl Mina by artist friend Liz Courts! Liz is an art instructor at local gem @pushpullseattle.bsky.social and teaches classes on painting cats if you like her work and want to make your own :)
I found a snake shed in the front grass, so cool! I think I’m gonna put it in one of my neat little jars with other spell components. I’ve been seeing smaller garter snakes in both the front and back yard which is awesome as it is a sign the ecosystem is healthy enough for them to reproduce 🐍🌱 🥰

Did you hear? They're selling limited edition Bread blind boxes at the circus today. If you get the chase rare, it also comes with a keychain shaped like a slice of American Cheese. I'm gonna try to get there early before the resellers get them all.

I find people don’t generally like to discuss how many cults and groups with cult-like dynamics forming have members and victims that are living integrated with everyone else in “society”. Groups that are cults, (or will soon become one) operate everywhere, not just in isolated pockets.
My teenager has gotten into watching football, and I am trying to be a supportive parent but I really don’t understand it… (the appeal or the game tbh) however I did find a seahawks shirt with sequins on it at the thrift store, so if nothing else I can get excited about that 😹
"Weird Little Guys" by @socialistdogmom.bsky.social is routinely great, but the last block of this last week's episode is masterful. The writing, the production, the way she read it, the barely-contained pathos, the undeniable truth. Masterful podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/m...

Consumer Reports tested 13 e-scooters to rate and review. But because of the frequency of injuries being reported - including injuries sustained by the CR testers themselves in this process - CR is not recommending ANY. www.consumerreports.org/cars/electri...
We Tested 13 Electric Scooters. We Don’t Recommend Any. - Consumer Reports
CR doesn't recommend e-scooters because of their high speeds and rising injury rates. Two of CR's testers sustained injuries while evaluating e-scooters, too.

"The Emperor is a fan of Flock, and we must continue utilizing Flock technologies so that we can follow and surveil the rebel scum as they move from playground to playground... They are following children in parks and gymnasiums, and we need this. I need this so I can stalk my ex-girlfriend."

Whenever I make chocolate chip cookies, I wonder: would they look as appetizing if I didn’t already know they were a dessert? 🤔 🍪

ICE SHOCK GLOVE BACKLASH: "I personally am sickened to learn our schools have been used as a test bed for a new law enforcement technology." @hurwitz.bsky.social on the globe beat found them being used in schools.
Cops love ICE's new shock gloves. Parents want them out of schools.
Omaha requested 40 pairs of the gloves for just under $66,000 in 2025.

Casual reminder that the myth of “pulling yourself up by your bootstraps” is a cruel hoax designed to convince poor people from all walks of life that the injustices they face are a result of their own actions, rather than an oppressive system rigged against them.

Every time someone says "but how will we afford it?" I want to ask them how we are affording it now, and in many cases, the answer is that we aren't.

Made one of my comfort foods for dinner tonight, it’s not one I generally recommend because apparently hot, canned tuna is a little polarizing for some people, but it was one of the first ‘recipes’ I learned to put together when I was a child: tuna n’ noodles.
