I was looking for an old quote and found this year old artcile where a Kotaku writer feels so stupidly about Nintendo not having achievements. "ARE THEY TOO GOOD FOR ACHIEVEMENTS??" Yes Zack, they are. For all I can criticize about nintendo, they actually design their games.

"AI brings creativity to people who can't paint or draw." Everyone can paint or draw. I made this just now. This is the extent of my skills, but I made it because everyone can already paint or draw.

The big literary discourse on twitter right now is whether The Hobbit—a children’s book that won children’s lit awards and was literally written for the author’s children—is appropriate reading for children or in fact such a difficult book most adults can’t “get their head around” it.

Mainstream Respectable opinion is that people joking about a bad person's death represents a culture of cruelty, but really it represents a culture of impunity. It's a coping mechanism for watching someone do evil their whole life and never seeing consequences

Gamers love throwing out the "lol you're just broke" insult. YEAH, I AM BROKE. AND GAMING IS ONE OF THE ONLY THINGS THAT MAKE ME HAPPY. SO YES I'D LIKE TO BE ABLE TO AFFORD MY HOBBY SO I DON'T DRIVE OFF A CLIFF.😂

I'm super excited to announce that you can now buy Skald and Avernum 4 in a great value-packed retro CRPG bundle on Steam! I've always been a big fan of @spiderwebsoft so this one was a lot of fun! So what are you waiting for? Go support some old men who make games⚔️ Link👇

I've never liked achievements and turn off notifications for them at first opportunity, but recently I've seen them just making people actively miserable. Folks angry at games at having 'missable' achievments, upset that they can't 100% a game in one playthrough, looking up guides before they start.

It’s inaccurate to say Mario is brave and Luigi is cowardly Luigi is afraid of death, so he runs away from danger. Mario is afraid of living, so he runs towards death. Both brothers are cowards in their own way

Prior to his time at Marvel, Wes was also responsible for developing the design of the NCR Veteran Ranger armor. Unbelievably talented. Honestly it's hard to believe Marvel disbanded this group. I've only worked with a few of their artists in the past, but they're all incredible.

Here’s just ONE of the artists Marvel Studios let go today: Wesley Burt, a brilliant veteran, one of the best in the industry. He made the viral Fantastic Four Valentine’s day card! He was also pivotal for the look of many films and shows like for example Loki, Black Panther, Avengers and so on!

That this is surprising & novel to people shows just how RPG Codex & NMA have lost any relevance... The "glittering gens of hatred" of old were replaced by (or became) posers who just cry about DEI and parrot rage-bait youtubers... Grognard criticism is a dying art.

fell down a rabbit hole, apparently the most thorough guides for Baldur's Gate 1&2 are written by a woman who has been thoroughly blogging all her video game opinions since the 1980s. she gave Baldur's Gate 3 a 2.1/10 rating and scathingly calls it a reddit RPG lilura1.blogspot.com/2024/01/Redd...

I found out recently that the "death to America" thing is intentional mistranslation, and the phrase would more accurately be translated as "down with America" which of course sounds way less extreme. Anyway death to America.

This is proving to be a popular sentiment, so if you want to play a game that was 100% made by human beings, check out Demonschool. (it is an RPG with puzzle-y tactical battles, so make sure you like that kind of thing first) store.steampowered.com/app/1900250/...

They’re telling me a great empire will be destroyed if I attack Persia. Even the oracles who don’t like me very much, very nasty, they all said to me, “Sir, it’s one of the great empires, and it’ll be destroyed. And all because you attacked Persia.” That’s what they’re telling me.
