Bayeux Tapestry good but massively upstaged by seeing a cat in a ruff right before

Okay, people, turns out I'm actually the chosen one. I met my kindergarten teacher today, and she told me about an incident I have no memory of. Apparently when I was three, we went to see a circus show's animals at a nearby place where they had pitched their tent.
I met a lizard at work today, that was mid-shed, and looked like it was wearing a tutu. 😂
Frankfurt Terminal 3 looks all shiny and new but the toilets I've seen are iffy and anyone without a EU passport should expect to wait a looooing time.

The cicadas have come out... Kyoto is pretty but just waaaay too hot.
Look at this cute little guy and the stripes on his pedipalps... #spider
My favorite Sam Neil fact will always be that he designed a future Australian flag that replaces the union jack with the aboriginal flag for Event Horizon and insisted the film use it.
This float features auspicious dragons and carps and... giraffes. They are kirin, of course, but the more realistic kind xD
Gion Festival preparations underway. Floats all over the main streets in the city centre.
I might end up getting cast in the main role for my play 😖 The role: stupid servant.
It’s the 114th anniversary of the opening ceremony of the 1912 Summer Olympics in Stockholm—the first at which poetry was a category you could win a medal for. The gold was taken by... er, Baron Pierre de Coubertin, President of the International Olympic Committee 🧵
Am I mad or is Kyoto literally Japanese Heidelberg? Nice river. So culture! wow!
Spent 190€ on a zojirushi rice cooker. Had a 5€ lunch at Sukiya to offset the expense.
Had a super frugal dinner (rice with fried onions and nattō) yesterday, then went for an hour of hitokara, singing Sailor Moon musical songs all by myself.
Not me, I use it since I discovered it in middle school and realized it fit perfectly with my endlessly complicated sentences. But that *was* also the time I started reading gay fanfiction. So who knows. There might be a correlation.
SHAKESPEAREAN HAIKU Shall I compare thee To a summer’s day? Alright – Thou art very hot.
#Fahrenheit458 Alles was gerade mit KI passiert hat die Science-Fiction schon seit den 1960er Jahren vorhergesagt.

The thing about AI is it’s… just not that good. Like, it’s *fine* at stuff, but never more so than your second-most trustworthy colleague. It’s also a bullshitter. A really plausible fake-it-till-you-make-it bullshitter. It’s like the digital equivalent of a posh 20-year-old boy.
At the end of the term I asked my college creative wriing students to submit anonymous thoughts on AI. No real surprises: Mood ranges from resignation to despair, capitulation from embittered erosion of standards to total, feelings of betrayal from deep to furious. 1/
