The decisive failure of GOP referenda in Kansas Amendment 1 and Missouri Amendment 4 yesterday is yet another reminder of something I've been saying for a while: Voters, even Republican voters, now regularly despise and repudiate GOP attempts to use them to destroy democracy.

Seems like the new StP city officials saw folks like Mamdani's success of social media and thought the secret sauce was 10,000 relentlessly positive posts a day about local groups and festivals Maybe they could show *things getting done* too, tho www.currentaffairs.org/news/meanwhi...

"If there is one lesson to be gleaned from the Trump era, it is that anyone can do, or say, anything they want in the name of political convenience—with zero shame & total panache—and nobody will hold it against you, or, at any rate, they’ll forget about it in a few days" slate.com/news-and-pol...

The Anti-Data-Center Movement Is Reshaping Michigan Politics

Climate activist Will Lawrence cofounded the Sunrise Movement. Now, he has shifted his focus in his attempt to compete for a swing-district seat by calling for a data center moratorium.

Humorous to me how, when a Dem candidate is a centrist, the narrative is about how leftists have to grow up and support them. When the candidate is a leftist, the question is whether they can rally adequate support. So some people are responsible for running a winning campaign, you say? Interesting.

Quite an upset in the #KSGov Dem primary. State Sen. Cindy Holscher, who came out against data centers and the Kansas City Chiefs stadium deal, has defeated state Sen. Ethan Corson, who had a big financial edge and an endorsement from term-limited Gov. Laura Kelly.

The core of MAHA -- that big interests make us sick -- is right Touble is, the answers provided are usually quackery because *other* interests -- and the electeds that benefit from them -- like it that way On data centers and glyphosate and pfas and so much else, Dems could win

There is pervasive corruption across our healthcare and agricultural systems that defy party lines. I meet with MAHA activists because a lot of their concerns are bipartisan issues that major corporations paint as partisan. The fight isn't left and right, it's top and bottom.
