MOSS Studio is a new drawing toy from @brainfruit.bsky.social, coming this fall to iPhone and iPad. it’s a magical little app that lets you draw, paint, record video, create chaotic brushes, edit photos, doodle, make music, and very generally “find the vibes” sign up for the waitlist: moss.town

i grew up in china when china was a low-trust (in terms of safety standards) society, so here’s some pasts that might be in our future in the Age of Diarrhea: * wash your own tableware with boiling water as pre-meal ritual at restaurants OR conspicuous glass-front UV-C santization machine for same

fyi for my fellow new yorkers: rockaway’s beaches were intermittently closed for swimming today because there are “like 8 sharks” hanging around (surfing was still allowed, even though isn’t that the activity that actually makes you look more like a delicious seal??)

Justice Sotomayor is reading from her partial dissent, in which she is joined by Justices Kagan and Jackson. It is a partial dissent because they would have sent the case back for further factual development on the equal protection claim. They agree the laws do not violate Title IX.

Interesting to see whether some disability orgs speak up about online verification laws. I very much expect people whose disability leads them to look younger will get flagged as having a fake ID etc. I think about this situation a lot. themarkup.org/hello-world/...

As Kels from @dfwsupportcommitt.bsky.social told me: "they’re being given extraordinary sentences for things that are supposed to be protected actions. Fireworks on the Fourth of July being called explosives and terrorism? Political literature is something worth taking 30 years of someone’s life?”

The Prairieland Sentences Are a National Emergency

A federal court has punished Texas ICE demonstrators with decades in prison. This is dark news, not just for them but for anyone who may want to register political dissent.
