Gamer, shitposter, works in tech

First off, what a cool looking game. Can't wait to play. Second, the interview where the game's creative director is asked "on Steam? What's that?" "it's a purchase game?" and "is there any chance it could go on Roblox?" is a real snapshot of where gaming's at.

Very cool seeing @kittencupstudio.bsky.social on CP24 talking about @capycastaway.com this morning. We need more mainstream coverage of games like this!

if you suffer from motion sickness with first-person games, please try one of our "motion reduction overlays" in Big Walk — crosshair, frame, or both. this is experimental, but we really want to improve this accessibility issue. give it a bit of time (if you can) then report back!! here's "both":

Absolutely unbelievable how solar power has taken off worldwide during the Hormuz oil crisis. You don't have to hand it to him, but Trump may have done more to finally kick off a global civilization of effete librul solar users than anyone else in the West

Chart showing solar panel exports from China (the main solar panel maker by a long shot) growing steadily & mightily from 2018 through 2026, then spiking by almost 2x in March 2026.

Мы живём в таком мире, что создателям Warhammer 40K пришлось объяснять, что их мир — это сатира и критика фашизма, потому что некоторые ультраправые начали воспринимать его как источник вдохновения. t.me/conceptarium...

Blog posts we used to have: “how I reduced latency across several hundred machines by 200 ms by removing two O(n)^2 hot paths” Blog posts we have now: “Here’s how to get the most out of /ultrathink in the latest release of Claudex 3.0.5”

Is there anything positive about politics today? Yeah: politics! Politics is a distinct human activity - it is an amazing thing we do. We can do it well or badly, and doing it well makes our lives go better.

What depoliticisation precludes many Russian citizens from seeing is that Putin’s propaganda is all about how he can’t stop losing. It’s an endless victim narrative about how, over and over, he can’t stop getting tricked by the West.

I’m cursed to see faux bold rendering when font-weight is cranked higher than the included font actually supports. I wish browser DevTools would flag it in the console. Makes me wonder if this could be caught by a linter 🤔

Screenshot of YouTube Studio's channel dashboard with DevTools open, showing an arrow pointing to the 27.792 subscriber count, which renders with visibly poorly rendered digits. The Inspector panel shows applied font-weight: 700, while another arrow points to the @font-face that declares font-weight: 500.

But history has no libretto, and advances in rights can be rolled back. One thing we can do immediately is re-ground the rights of disadvantaged minorities in solidarity and the public good, rather than in difference and separateness. 2/2
