Conundrum for today: Is it still graffiti art if it’s in chalk? Or is it just art?

Was over there, now dabbling over here. I guess we'll see how things end up!
This does seem like a big slap in the face for local democracy & community planning. If the data centre is taking space that could be used for used, this is a bad decision. Data centres don’t need to be in London, to serve London (there’s this thing called telecommunications & the internet…)
Approval of east London datacentre labelled ‘slap in the face’ for local democracy
These could have saved lives in Ukraine instead of being part of a strategic catastrophe in the ME.
US military has used up nearly 80% of THAAD missile interceptors and roughly 50% of its Patriot interceptors since start of the Iran war, according to two sources speaking to CNN.
Not at all sure about this, but couldn’t resist. Visions of childhood ice-creams past 😂
In any normal civilised country with rule of law & decency in public office, this would be clear abuse of Presidential Office & insider trading, resulting in criminal action against. But… The USA has abandoned all the above & the Trump mafia crime spree continues. www.upday.com/uk/wall-stre...

Shamefully, this used to be ‘ok’, but was fairly successfully stamped out & made socially unacceptable for new generations. It is not ok to wind back the clock on that. It is not ok for parties like Reform & Restore to have their hate platformed & normalised. It’s on us all, to call out & stop this.

There are many issues with Reform’s proposals for Royal Navy operations against small boats but chief among them is the fact it has already happened and didn't achieve the government's stated aims Operation Isotrope ran from 2022-23 as Channel crossings peaked inews.co.uk/news/world/n...
No, Farage, the Royal Navy can't stop small boats. This is why
Critics are already tearing apart Reform's plans to deploy British warships to intercept migrants in the Channel

And the malign orchestrators of this, care not the tiniest amount for the 72 people who died in the process - expendable pawns to their dark aims and selfish greed. Abhorrent. The extremes that simple (deliberate) misinformation on social media can achieve, should never be underestimated.
🚨🚨" far-right and MAGA politicians, influencers, and podcasters will immediately use the most divisive language possible in order to make voters as angry as possible, as fast as possible, regardless of what actually happened. " Strong piece by @anneapplebaum.wsocial.eu on FR reactions to #ceuta:

You do wonder how people were at one time convinced that what they really wanted, was to be on elevated concrete walkways, separated from roads & ruined historic buildings plunged into darkness below them, with only occasional tree tops around them to shift the grey. But… it happened. #Barbican
Words fail me tbh, other than to think of those uttered so often by many on here… The “abolish the Home Office” ones

Fiscal Rules Are for Sensible Fools
Fiscal rules are political theatre. They’re announced as financial disciplines, evidence that the grown-ups are in charge – but gamed when inconvenient and abandoned when reality intrudes.

Obviously decided it wasn’t in his best interests for reelection. I suspect thinking he’ll just bide his time & re-propose it after he is. Now people know he can be beaten, though. Do they take that further? www.bbc.co.uk/sport/footba...

Headline for this story is Reform scrapping net zero when they took over the council, but behind that is an even more notably dark change, imo - this was a *Tory* Council implementing award winning climate change action. Badenoch now banishing all that, too eastangliabylines.co.uk/environment/...

For years, Telegraph columnists told us climate breakdown is a hoax. Now they say: it's real, but it's too late to do anything about it, so let the bodies pile high (again). Just one long list of excuses not to reduce fossil fuel use. Such newspapers bear as much responsibility as the oil firms.
For some of us engineers, oh the joy of stumbling onto a place like this… Stuffed full of proper old machines, run by a proper old skool apprentice trained tech, one man band - wonderful! And that unmistakable smell, takes you straight back 😁 Amazing what you find tucked away in an old chicken shed!
This is what directly elected mayors does to our democracy. Winner takes all in single issue personality politics. A race to the bottom.

Slaving away outside all day without any shade has confirmed that today has indeed been… ‘ot! 🌞🥵 (But not humid which is the key - and much rather this, than wind & rain for today’s tasks, so I am not complaining!)
