Last day to respond to the Fleet St consultation!! Option 1 will help reduce traffic and make the area more welcoming and safer for people cycling 🙂 - but would like to see the westbound uphill cycle track segregated. Option 2 is not a serious proposal!? 🙄 transformingfleetstreet.commonplace.is

3/ London's congestion charge ends at 6pm ... and then the number of motorised vehicles in the City of London rockets. That looks like a policy failure to me. (Unsurprisingly, folk walking are the City's main mode of transport, usually arriving by public transport)
2/ "Compared to summer 2023, people cycling increased 44% and walking and wheeling by 22% over a 24-hour period." "The latest autumn counts (2024) showed that cycling growth, overall traffic reduction and freight reduction are all currently ahead of their respective 2030 targets."

Had a grand old time at the London Nocturne this weekend. Penny Farthings, women's race, and a lot of cowbell ringing!
Great to see the Nocturne back in London on Saturday. Road racing plus: the giant Penny Farthing record, a tiny Penny , LCC's CEO in the VOI challenge, an LCC stall, Brompton racing and fancy dress. Well done all.
It's the Nocturne in the City today and the penny farthing event looks like hard work!

Here's how you close a cycle lane for roadworks. Close a lane for cars to create a temporary cycle pane, install ramps so people on bikes can exit and re-enter the cycleway. 📍 Upper Thames Street, London
LAST CALL!! Here's a nice way to spend a minute this evening. 😁 Taxi drivers argue they need access thru Bank junction but this simply worsens conditions for those walking, wheeling and cycling and it doesn't add access for taxis to the junction they didn't already have. bank-taxi.commonplace.is
