12/ We spent months compiling every case we could find of immigration agents detaining Americans. We did it because the government hasn't. And now, we're sharing every one of those cases with you. Explore our database: propub.li/4egbSK2

Screenshot of database titled "Explore All Incidents Where Citizens Were Detained." Text below explains that this is every incident ProPublica could find in which one or more citizens were reportedly detained between January 2025 and September 2026. There are 506 citizens' cases in the database, and users can sort by what the incidents involve, where the incident is located, and the recency of the case.

The government *still* isn’t tracking how often immigration agents detain U.S. citizens. We are. 500+ Americans have been handcuffed, held at gunpoint or held against their will in Trump’s second term. Our tally is almost certainly an undercount. THREAD (content warning: violence) ⬇️

Poland’s embassy in Washington blasts Tucker Carlson for justifying Hitler’s 1939 invasion of Poland. Bogdan Klich, the embassy’s chargé d’affaires, called his comments “false” and “deeply troubling” and demanded that Carlson retract them and apologize.

The most ordinary man imaginable came to my home state to tell me to ‘get out of America’ while he & Absent Ashley enjoyed the comfort of buildings my ancestors helped build. Imagine standing on the shoulders of the ppl who built this country & then telling their descendants they don’t belong here/2

Will Bunch is why I subscribe to the Philly Inquirer. Here he calls out the media for (once again) sane washing Trump, in probably the most egregious case of all – his profoundly and dangerously unhinged speech to the UN last week. It's a 5-alarm fire folks. But you wouldn't know it reading the NYT.

We need to find the words for Trump’s madness before things blow up | Will Bunch

The media and politicians haven’t pinned down anything resembling a suitable description for a president’s downward spiral or the looming battle for U.S. democracy.

“When I was in kindergarten in 1961, I survived a near-fatal case of measles… my clearest memory of that period is my father carrying me to our station wagon & rushing me to the hospital. I stayed for a month, part of it in a coma, my blood pressure dangerously unstable” @jackiantonovich.bsky.social

Measles almost killed me. Now I’m a doctor — and I'm scared of what's happening

Jewel Mullen was in kindergarten in 1961 when she almost died from measles. Now a physician, measles’ return frightens her.

Yup The peer reviewed research evidence supports a zoonotic origin, & this new discovery does even more to make zoonosis the likely origin As Dr Markus Hoffman says (he co-discovered the FCS in SARS-CoV-2): “For me, there is currently no compelling evidence that Sars-CoV-2 was engineered in a lab”

This is noteworthy. Again, no compelling evidence supports the COVID lab leak theory. The furin cleavage site present in SARS-CoV2 was perceived as unusual, fueling the lab leak theory. But now we understand that other bat betacoronaviruses have it. 🧪 www.chemistryworld.com/news/does-th...

Luttig: The precursor of this constitutional crisis is when and if Mike Johnson removes the incumbent clerk and replaces them with a loyalist. That will tell the American people that Trump and Johnson are going to try this unconstitutional effort…

Benjamin Netanyahu & Donald Trump: corrupt, dishonest men who only care about themselves and pander to domestic terrorist in their countries, kill innocent people without conscience, and ruin the reputations of their countries—and any goodwill/sympathy the international community once had for them.

BREAKING NYT: Investigators may have broken state laws under the direction of top Trump Homeland Security leaders by posing as voters as part of an expansive effort to find noncitizens on the nation's voter rolls, according to a federal whistleblower's account just released.

Whistle-Blower: Federal Agents May Have Broken State Laws in Search For Voter Fraud

In response to this, the DeSantis administration releases a statement saying that they'd make this outrageous cage "even smaller if we could." The Department of Homeland Security's own Inspector General said it violated every detention standard and posed a significant danger to health and safety.

"At least ten million illegal aliens entered our country under the Biden administration. Florida decided to do something about it," Lanfranconi said. "The left-wing media wants to focus on a confinement area for violent criminal aliens who have proven they cannot remain peaceful while awaiting deportation. While it adheres to all federal standards for criminal confinement, we'd make it even smaller if we could."

NEW: DHS's Inspector General releases a scathing report about the Everglades detention camp known as "Alligator Alcatraz." The OIG finds that the now-closed camp, violated multiple ICE standards. The OIG also confirms detainees were punished with placement in a metal cage in the Florida heat.🧵

OFFICE OF INSPECTOR GENERAL
U.S. Department of Homeland Security
Staff also reported that time spent in the small metal enclosures is closely monitored, and
detainees are not locked in, even though we observed locking mechanisms on the enclosures.

Underneath is a picture of a metal cage that is 4 feet 3 inches wide by 4 feet 3 inches long, and 7 feet 9 inches high. The cage itself is placed on a tiny spot of fake turf, and then surrounded by another chainlink fence with razor wire on top. The cage is covered by a roof, but it's entirely exposed to the outside otherwise, meaning mosquitos and no air conditioning.
