It is funny that as more people get duped by AI, the response more frequently seems to be to insist that the models are developing godlike intelligence and we all need to be sooo careful when the real lesson is clearly that the human psyche can get absolutely one-shotted by personalized flattery

Starting to get the same feeling when I see someone using AI as I get when I see young people smoking: "C'mon, dude, it makes you look like a jackass and you absolutely know at this point it's gonna fuck you up, what are you doing?"
The nuances surrounding Gen AI: its impacts on the environment, that it was made with stolen works, that it impacts mental health, that it negatively impacts the grey matter in your brain, that it was trained on biased material and remains biased ... The nuances it does not include: using it.

I'm not letting AI horseshit maneuver me into a defensive position with my writing. I write like I write. I love emdashes. I keep using emdashes. Whatever we write, AI will take and copy it -- all you can do is keep writing the best shit you can write in the form you want it to take, and fuck it.
