It’s a cool, damp morning. I’m going to head to Duck Lake, Saskatchewan to drop off two quilts for longarming. The one I just finished is fun — vintage school days. I found a batik that had all the colours in the prints and used it for the cornerstones and outer border. 😊

A simple quilt top made of rectangles and squares. Fabric has designs representing old school days: penmanship guides, maps, school photos, etc.Closeup show a few of the fabrics with the batik border that captures all the fabric colours.

Here are some of the songs I've been listening to this summer. It starts with a song Michelle and I love by Glen Hansard, a great musician who passed tragically this week. Our hearts go out to his family.

Seven years ago today, I adopted a formerly feral dog from a rescue agency. This is a photo I took on the day she arrived at my house-- to this day she won't touch food unless she's explicitly invited to eat it, no matter how many times I tell her she's allowed to have whatever she wants.

Clearly anxious black and brown hound mutt with light brown eyes, a medium sized dog who doesn't look exactly thrilled to be in my family yet. There is a cheap dog treat resting on her long nose, which she is not appearing to want to eat.
