Passed a big flock of white-fronted geese on the way too. Only the second time I've ever seen those folks.
This was one of the very few times I was driving on a highway and took the next exit to make a U-turn to get another look at something I'd passed. I didn't even know what they were at the time but knew it was a notable event of some sort.
