Sam, I am. Cloth is fabricated. Negligent on follow backs; not personal. Here for the timelines.
Susan Collins pulls into town in a bus full of her supporters; then they all get off the bus; and then she addresses the folks who were on the bus with her as if they were regular Mainers; and legacy media covers this, pretending it isn't deeply bizarre. (Notice the guys with cameras.) #MEpolitics

I enjoyed this interview with author Karen Hao, Empire of AI. Part of a small series but very helpful to share with others who don't follow #AI as close or fully understand. Great details with @anitaanand.bsky.social podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/e...

If we were able to go to a full asylum hearing I could brief and argue all of the above under current 1st Circuit precedent. But since this is only the most cursory possible review in which counsel is not even allowed to participate, the judge gets to decide her own version of the case
"The civil contempt question reflects a genuine circuit split. The Ninth Circuit permits contempt based on an injunction’s general purpose; other circuits require that the enjoined conduct be clearly and unambiguously specified."
SCOTUS will hear Apple Inc. v. Epic Games, Inc. to decide whether courts can hold parties in civil contempt for violating an injunction's "spirit" when the order is silent on the conduct at issue.
During the Epstein files hearing, Judge Sullivan pointedly invokes his history of (famously) holding prosecutors in contempt in the case of Sen. Ted Stevens: “I’m probably the only judge in this Circuit who has held the Justice Department attorneys in civil contempt.”

150 years ago today, a Chicago city official shot and killed a school principal. It became one of that era’s most-talked-about criminal cases, sparking arguments over guns, justice and religion. Here's my Chicago Tribune story (gift link): www.chicagotribune.com/2026/08/07/v...

Justice Alito’s “practical originalism” confirms what I’ve expressed in books, articles, and blog posts for decades: originalism is a political label not a serious theory of constitutional interpretation. Sadly, in our culture, labels have immense political power: www.wsj.com/opinion/just...
If there is a communist threat clawing its way into the halls of American power, that threat is coming from inside the White House, which is interfering with the free market to strengthen its own centralized power. My latest in @chicagotribune.com (gift link) www.chicagotribune.com/2026/08/07/c...
